Ollie North and The NRA
Can anyone post true facts about the rift between the NRA and Ollie North? Please leave out his dealings with weapons to foreign countries. We as a country should not have done that.

Yup. I think Ollie was trying to do right. King Wayne is way more worried about himself than the 2A.AmBraCol wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 12:44 pmHere you go.

Re: Ollie North and The NRA
When they call me to ask for funs, I ask, "Has LaPierre stepped down? Then, NO, no more funds for him to waste." They haven't called in a while. I'm an Endowment Life Member, but wonder what they did with the dues I paid in. He thinks he's more important than he is, and I know I'm not the only one who refuses to contribute as long as he's at the helm.

It's my perception that there is more to the story.
If LaPierre had committed some breach of ethics he'd be gone.
North was not the only honest man sitting on the Board of Directors.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

LaPierre makes more than a million a year.... Net worth about six million.

Re: Ollie North and The NRA
He apparently makes a lot of money. Top executives seem to get paid in that range these days.
I read a stockholder's report and the CEO of the company I worked for was being compensated a quarter million dollars a week.
Is that the issue? Somebody not doing that particular job thinks he's getting paid too much?

Re: Ollie North and The NRA
Nice deflection. So, the NRA...as a corp. and board of directors....are much more interested in personal wealth and perks than the 2nd Amendment.FWiedner wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 7:57 pmHe apparently makes a lot of money. Top executives seem to get paid in that range these days.

OK, so he's the Chief Executive of a corporation which business is the promotion and protection of the 2nd Amendment, and he makes money while doing it.
Is that the complaint?
How is he making all this supposedly dirty, unethical money that LtCol. North was complaining about?

Re: Ollie North and The NRA
The allegations were that he would make crappy contracts on behalf of the NRA that somehow funneled money in his direction. I wouldn’t be shocked if some of it is true, since that seems to be a common behavior of CEOs whether it’s the Red Cross or General Motors or the NRA.
As long as most ‘gun control’ is stifled I don’t care all that much, but of course money misdirected is money that could have been better used.

He obviously makes a lot more money than I do, but as I attempted to point out, $1-million a year is not an exorbitant executive salary in today's world.
I'm curious whether the money he is allegedly making off of these questionable contracts is going into his pockets or is it going into some sort of NRA executive slush-fund?
