Universal Masking and Mandatory Gun-Carrying...

Post by AJMD429 »

One of the arguments against 'universal masking' is that they are "not effective, and may be detrimental, in the uncontrolled environments of the real-world, especially when improperly used by untrained individuals". They are potentially "very helpful when properly used in some environments by trained personnel, however".

When people you talk to express skepticism at this line of logic, you might tell them "we know that in the hands of properly trained individual, and in many environments, handguns can be beneficial and enhance safety for the one with the firearm, as well as others present, but do you think that we should mandate that everyone carry a handgun, regardless of training, and in all environments...???"

My guess is that they will say 'no', no doubt in part because the people advocating mask mandates tend to be of the same political philosophy as those who dislike firearms.

A couple articles on 'universal masking' -
