A " No Knock" warrant is a recipe for disaster.
From his weapons on the open road no man should step one pace away, you don't know for certain when you're out on the road when you might have need of your spear.

No knock warrants are a pretty certain way to get someone killed.

Yep. The 'drug prohibition' has been about as 'successful' as 'alcohol prohibition' in terms of INCREASING violent crime while not doing a thing about reducing actual alcohol/drug abuse. It has pushed us more towards a police-state.

And 'no-knock' warrants should only be used if innocent lives are clearly at stake - not for 'substance' crimes. Who among us wouldn't AT LEAST draw and point a gun if all of a sudden we awoke with an intruder in our home...? Yet of course if those individuals are cops, and believe they are there for a legitimate reason, and see you pointing a gun, they WILL understandably shoot you. The only way to avoid someone dying is to NOT have no-knock warrants.

In this case, they DID announce and knock before breaching the door, but again - who among us would necessarily hear and understand such an announcement at 3 am...? It takes me a couple minutes just to open my eyes and warm up the brain circuits, then another minute or two to limber up and go down the stairs - by then, whoever was 'knocking' would be breaching out of impatience.

Having said all that, if a young woman chooses the charisma of a drug-dealer over a better companion, that bad choice may haunt her or get her killed for many years after.

Doc AJ, I completely agree. Takes me a little bit to wake up, too. PillHer says that if she wakes me up and is in a hurry, I react by reaching for a flashlight and gun. Seems that she has learned to be calm and shake my shoulder gently to prevent me from snapping awake in soldier mode. Man, they really make that training stick. No way of knowing, but from what PillHer says, a sudden break-in might have me shooting someone before I am thinking.
