Sounds as if the "Peaceful Protestors" need to be made peaceful in the Old West sense.

You have to change out the barrel to let it cool about every 100 to 200 rounds. It really is a crew served weapon. I used to be able to take one down to all user allowed parts while blindfolded in 48 seconds. It took about 95 seconds to put it back together while blindfolded. The movies are typically HollyWEIRD BS where it comes to the M60. Now, give me and 1 other person who knows how to use it and a metal wagon full of those 100 round boxes of ammo with the bags to hold the box on the gun, plus enough CLP or CLP mixed with LSA to keep it running, and those rioter/looter crowds would be in a world of hurt. It gets hot enough to burn off CLP, so you need to lube it about every 100 rounds. A quart squirt bottle of CLP with a squeeze spray top works fast and well. LSA is a type of heavy oil/light grease used on the 60mm mortar. When mixed 2 parts CLP to 1 part LSA it will still spray. It is heavier and stays put. It also handles more heat. You only need to re-apply about every 500 rounds. If the M60 ever gets dry, well, it jams worse than a drunken rock band in a suburban garage.

That is very interesting. Thanks for posting. I never shot an MG and am hoping I never will...

My brother said he could get single shots and double taps out of an M2. I think he was just messing with the RO's . . . IDK

(AND if RO is civilian-speak-only, Sorry)
