I'm done with football and basketball, for good...

Post by AJMD429 »

I quit watching football when Kaepernick pulled the 'kneeling' stuff and the NFL went along with it.
Now basketball is done for me.

I'll have more time to read, watch movies, and/or reload.

I won't "go back" - just ceasing their asinine behavior will not do. They would have to completely and publicly REJECT the whole BLM nonsense to even have a chance at earning my viewership, and even then I'd doubt their sincerity, so no matter.

Hockey maybe isn't going to go that route, but there won't ever be any NFL or NBA games watched by me, ever.

I never did watch organized team sports and especially hate bassaball. #defundsports and put em out of work.

For racing I like Speedway Motorcycles, Hard Enduro, Trials motorcycle and World of Outlaw Sprint Cars. And of course local mud bogs and truck pulls.

inform their advertisers that the behavior of the most highly paid two year olds on the planet is beneath contempt, and you won't buy anything advertised on those broadcasts.

that worked in Juneau at the fred meyer that was selling porn at kid's eye level in the cashier lines...
they eventually pulled the porn, and then they later went out of business and shuttered the building. and this in a city that's full of illiberal liberals in government.

I hope someone sets up a website to oppose the entire lunatic fringe, in a community organizer sense.

I specially love baseball. It is America's sport. Maybe that has something to do with attending Cubs games in Wrigley Field while I was a developing fetus . . . It grieves me to see what they've done to the game.

I went to one baseball game in my life. That was too many. I can have more fun drowning worms.

that's funny but fishing is far more boring than baseball, unless you get into a big king salmon bite.

I don't have to watch the fish scratch, spit, make funny gestures, scratch again, spit some more, make more funny gestures, then finally do something. I can relax watching a bobber and not usually worry if all those drunks are going to spill beer on me. Baseball would be a lot better if they put a 30 second timer on the pitcher. Watching a chess match with those timers is more exciting. Seventh inning stretch is just to see who all has died from boredom so far.

you don't have to watch any of that. you can listen to a ball game on radio and get the ambiance of the stadium, and get a masters level tie in to the deep history. radio baseball announcers are virtuoso performers. they can tell stories without missing or messing up one at-bat. where as if you listen to baseball on the tv you will hear a couple of braggers who never shut up and never call the game. tv has kind of wrecked baseball in a way. baseball for me is a perfect background sound to help me live with a high level of tinnitus.

but baseball is not for everyone. it's too deep and complicated for someone who might prefer bowling or some such. like kick ball. yuck. :D
