"Does Genocide ever happen where there is no 'gun control'...?"

Post by AJMD429 »

This was asked on another forum - here's my answer (some good resources):

Before guns were invented, I guess it happened….but once guns enabled the weak and few to pose a greater hazard to the strong and many, genocide became far more costly in terms of personnel, morale, and ultimately, ‘media’ coverage.

Some resources on the topic:

1. Genocide is the largest category of human-caused death, dwarfing the combined totals of ‘gun murders’ ‘gun accidents’ ‘gun suicides’ terrorism, and even including wartime military casualties - YET ‘gun control’ advocates simply ignore it, focusing on ‘assault weapons’ or other nonsense (‘assault weapons’ are used to murder fewer people than ‘blunt objects’, and ten years worth of ‘assault weapon’ murders wouldn’t equal ONE DAY of genocidal deaths for the world).

2. The clear connection of genocide to ‘gun control’

b) Right to Bear Arms – Nazi Gun Control Policies (https://www.stephenhalbrook.com/right-t ... -policies/)

3. The dishonesty ‘gun control’ advocates use to compare different nations

b) Video summary of research by Joyce Lee Malcom https://youtu.be/arWNe5U5l_8

4. The dishonesty (to the point of ‘distorting data and fabricating facts’) on the part of the ‘public health and gun violence’ fanatics - even in ‘mainstream’ medical literature

b) Point Blank: Kleck, Gary: 9780202307626: Amazon.com: Books (https://www.amazon.com/Point-Blank-Guns ... 20230762X/)

5. Finally - the 'Vision of the Anointed' - by Thomas Sowell - this video interview of the author does a good job of illustrating the MINDSET of the 'progressives' who so often support 'gun control'. The rest of us so often wonder just how they have the audacity (or outright arrogance) to feel their uninformed opinions on 'how the world should be run' should take precedence over real-world experience and the advice of those who have a thorough understanding of history and economics and human behavior - https://youtu.be/JyufeHJlodE. Sowell explains it well, and though I don't think he uses the phrase 'Dunning Kruger effect' - it is clear that is what he is asserting the political 'left' suffers from.

Too bad the sincere-but-uninformed ‘gun control’ supporters won’t take the time to actually read things like this and become informed - they would change their stance. Unfortunately it is easier and earns more ‘virtue points’ to simply support symbolic ‘gun control’, even if it is not only useless, but dangerously counterproductive. Evidently it is more important to virtue-signal than actually save lives.

"first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.

A very interesting take on why gun control is so very dangerous. Thanks Doc.
From his weapons on the open road no man should step one pace away, you don't know for certain when you're out on the road when you might have need of your spear.
