WTB in MO: Lyman 310 expander die or stem in 429

Post by black river smith »

I am interested in buying a Lyman 310 expander in 0.429. I will take a complete die or just the 429 stem.

If someone has one sitting around extra, I would be interested. I do not need a collectors item.

Thanks

If you dont turn one up here, try on the castboolit forum. They have an active 310 section and a specific "trade or looking for parts" type thread going.

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

I have a box of miscellaneous 310/Tru-line jr. dies in the basement, I'll go through them tomorrow and see if I have one.

tycer,

Yes, I thought about Rick. I did buy some of my first pieces from him. I am just trying to stay away from the $25 range. I could buy a lyman for $25.99 or more so on Ebay.

My primary goal was to find a reasonably priced 429 in order to create a 427 for my 44/40 set, since 427's are extremely harder find. This started when I won a FL & DA 44/40 but the FL did not come with the 427 screw on expander. I then found a MR for 44/40 and then bought a complete 429 die that I applied to the set. But I really want a 427 or make a 427 to compliment or complete the set.

Heres the most recent page, id start there and work backwards and see if anyone in the recent-ish past, like the last couple years, mentioned what youre looking for or just post what you want, or post what you need. Its trade only thread, but you could PM someone with stuff you may need. I havent looked at it in a couple years, but theres often quite a variety of stuff there being traded.

malamute,

Thanks for the link and the suggest. I did that same thing several days back and nothing was listed. Unfortunately I am not signed on a that site and do not like putting information out across too many such site.
I will come up the some other idea.
Thanks all.
