Re: New powder horn
I thought I had given up muzzle loading but every time I see some interesting traditional equipment I get a little closer to taking it up again. Nice horn mine are rather plain.

That would look right home on a Mountain Man. Jim Bridger, John Coulter, the Lewis & Clark expedition, and others like that would have been happy with those.

Re: New powder horn
My three horns, the bottom one was used the most. I haven't used a powder horn in ages, must put that right soon...

I was lucky to find this to adorn the big horn, don't want to be taken for a Red Coat..

Re: New powder horn
Neat looking powderhorns GK. I have never used a flinter, so have never needed a powderhorn. My muzzleloader is the inline type, and I have a half dozen little tubes that hold up to 150 grains of powder. I carry a small item which can remove the fired 209 primer and then replace it to make things easier. It has been some years since I used my muzzleloader. Until last year, my work schedule was changing up until Tuesday night at 9 pm to start on Wednesday through Tuesday. Maybe this year I can be out hunting. Texas allows inline muzzleloaders. Some states don't.

Re: New powder horn
Nice work guys! I started a horn with a tapered octagonal motif, a lot harder than I anticipated, it's a project for my brother that is 95% complete, it is my first attempt.
