Texas lifts Covid 19 Restrictions effective March 10.

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

I just finished reading our Governor's new Executive Order and it lifts most of the Covid restrictions unless you are in a county with a specified "area with high hospitalizations" related to Covid.

The great news is that we will not be required to wear masks or face coverings and our businesses can be fully open.

The Governor encourages the use of masks when social distancing is impossible, but will not require them.

Those masks, IMO, were silly.
On the other hand, slobs that let loose a cough or sneeze without covering should be abruptly educated.

I am not aware that Missouri has ever had any such state wide restrictions.

I ignored the mask mandate in rural areas where there was no enforcement. But in Bexar and Travis Counties I followed the law.

I live in a rural area in north Texas (nearly in Oklahoma) and I have made it a point to ignore that ridiculous mandate 100% from the start. It should’ve went to court and been struck down immediately anyway.

I just hope the Texans visiting our county, adjacent to El Paso, bring their masks. There is a reason why we are one of only four counties in New Mexico that is "red" and under maximum restrictions.

El Paso and Juarez have had a rough go of it. I lost a good friend in the El Paso City Attorney's office.

I do not understand why leftists are losing their minds over this.

Stay the hell out of Texas if you live in that kind of fear.

I am glad to see Texas open back up. We need to get the economy back to life. Having it on Government CPR just is not working.

Took 'em long enough. Sheesh. But better late then never I suppose.

Of course it's easy to be smug (yes, pardon me, I am being smug) when you live in South Dakota. Where the Governor NEVER shut the state down. Kristi Noem rocks!

This virus may never go away, according to the latest thinking by epidemiologists.

Most all that stuff never goes away. The plague is still with us .. since the 1300's. About once a year someone comes down with it after shooting prairie dogs in certain places. We shot 'em ... just did not handle them or get near them.

What happens is susceptible people die off ... vaccines are developed ... and nearly everyone then is immune to whatever bug it is that is lurking around.

As a kid, I was always told to not get too close to Prairie Dog towns or to handle the dead ones.

Anthrax is a native soil bacteria in many parts of cattle country from the Gulf Coast on up into the Northern States. Remember the scare when someone was mailing Anthrax powder? Anthrax is still in the soil.
