Yup,I have also discovered you can do multiples if they are close to the same caliber. I did finally get the "proper" crimp dies for each case just to keep myself honest!

I have two, I use one... Well... actually it's not a FCD. For some reason my RCBS seater taper crimp die for the 45ACP stopped feeding in my 1911s. Local shop only had the taper crimp die from Lee, so that's in use and my 45ACPs are back feeding in all my 1911s. Hopefully it'll be the same when I get my Commander back from being re-blued. That's the most important one, as it's my EDC.

I bought one for the .30-30 several years ago to see if there was any difference between it and the roll crimp the RCBS, accuracy wise. Found none. Figured I didn't need the additional step.

I had them made for 357 magnum, 44 magnum, and 45 Colt. The ‘pistol’ ones they sell are a different style of die and involve a sliding carbide ring instead if a segmented collet. But they will make them and the ‘rifle’ style for a nominal fee.

Great tip! I need to look and see if they make a FCD for the .300 Blackout.

Many times a poster just says "Lee FCD" and that doesn't really explain which one they're talking about. But I'm guessing the OP is talking about the collet crimp dies for bottlenecked cartridges...

I use the Lee FCD on my .32 WS and my .30-30 both. It has eliminated crushed cases. I have a couple of RCBS dies. They are probably the worst pieces of junk that anyone ever came up with. I use the Hornady lock ring on the Lee dies, and get almost perfect rounds every time. RCBS lock rings are impossible to adjust. Since I do not use only one load and one bullet in most calibers, RCBS is worse than useless for me. I like Hornady dies. Excellent.

This post has a lot of information about the factory crimp die’s, including the two different types.

Yeah it comes in a red plastic box on which is boldly printed LEE FACTORY CRIMP DIE and .308 Winchester.....
Yep, all three come in a red plastic box and say "LEE FACTORY CRIMP DIE"; the post crimping sizing die for handgun cartridges, the collet crimp die for bottleneck cartridges and the similar collet crimp for handgun cartridges....

Ray, I never thought of using one for larger calibers. Great idea!
