Rossi Cartridge Guide Screw .44

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

I don't actually know how this happened, but I am missing a cartridge guide screw on the left side on my .44 Mag Rossi 92.

It hasn't interfered with function, but it should still be there. Can anyone tell me the best place to buy one?

I ordered a few screws from Rossi 8-9 years ago and my recall of that experience is best described by the terms 'pricey' and 'slow'. Things may be better since they're owned by Taurus and Taurus has a US plant. You might give Steve's Guns a call too. If I come up with something else, I'll add it to this thread.

I hope you can find a replacement without much hassle. It bothers me to no end when one of my guns needs a part and I don't have it in my hands yet.

Thanks guys. It looks like my problem is solved. Thanks Buddy!

But I wonder how that screw could back out and get lost without me noticing? This isn't a gun that I have used a lot.

It could possibly be stripped. Rossi uses a really fine metric thread. If it won't tighten let me know. I have on occasion had to tap the guide to a win screw. A 6-48. It's more coarse so there is enough metal left for it.

Just snug it. They strip really easily.
