Family issues, need prayers big time

Post by J Miller »

Well;

> A couple days ago my wife's niece's son in law went into the hospital with possible covid, no word about him yet.

> Last night we got word that one of her older brothers (living in a assisted living home) has died from covid.

> Then today her second oldest sister went into surgery for heart stent(s). No words about her yet.

> The youngest sister is AWOL. Nobody knows where she is.

Situation around here is totally stressed. Prayers would help.

I got a screaming sinus / migraine headache, I need a beer.

TIA, Joe & Elaine

Prayers up, buddy...

For what it's worth, I'll try to post my 'medical' thoughts on stuff to do to minimize risk/illness with CoVid. Melatonin isn't on the list, but maybe should be as well.

Got some updates ...

> A couple days ago my wife's niece's son in law went into the hospital with possible covid, no word about him yet.
SIL did not have covid. Something to do with intestines, I forget. He's doing better.

> Last night we got word that one of her older brothers (living in a assisted living home) has died from covid.
His lawyer mucked it all up and has now made like smoke in the wind and vanished. He bought a burial plot for the guy, but never secured any permissions for the home to use it. Sort of in limbo right now. Home is sending signature forms to the surviving brothers and sisters so they can get him cremated and have his ashes spread on the old homestead here in FT Wayne. What a pain.

> Then today her second oldest sister went into surgery for heart stent(s). No words about her yet.
Sister made it through surgery fine. Arteries 99% blocked, three stents required. Major improvements.

> The youngest sister is AWOL. Nobody knows where she is.
Still no word on her, but the home says if the majority of survivors sign her sig wont be needed.

So, things are still bad, but are better than we expected. Thanks for the prayers, we appreciate them.

OP I feel for you . I'd really hate to have a missing family member.. I wonder how I would feel if my older brother croaked. My wife flew to OKC this morning because her very lucid ,sharp as a tack- 93 year old Korean War veteran Father is waiting as best as he can for his scattered children to gather around him so he can die.. I am stressed partly cus wife will be gone 5 days and I figure the clean dishes, pots and pans is only gonna last me 3 days till I am gonna need my lady again :D

Youngest sister has been located and contacted. She's somewhere in CA.

According to OH law in lieu of wife, children or parents, the oldest sibling becomes the executor of the estate. Things are slowly getting squared away.

Still a very stressful situation.

Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers. They helped.

Yes, and thanks to all.
Family members have been accounted for, papers are being signed, and those that were ailing are doing better.

Thanks.
