Interesting molds

Post by Tycer »

No lube grooves on the aluminum one. The hollow point mold has several different nose profile pins and each pin has two threaded holes for the rods to hold them in place. Can’t think of any way to get the bullets out without removing the rods first?!

Kind regards,

Just maybe!
The nose pins can be held in place by screwing the threaded pin so that it does not enter one half of the mold. Then another maybe , when the mold is opened the bullet will drop with another tap.
I know a lot of maybe's there.
I bet the maker has a definitive answer for you !

Tycer the the nose pin on the MP is held in by the threaded rods on one side of the mold,or the other not both( with two pins on the same side per pin). I put the desired nose pin in then slide the two rods through the mold block and into the threaded part of the nose pin. You should have itty bitty e clips in your pack and if you look at the pins there is s a groove at the end for these clips. It allows the nose pin and the rods to slide a bit when you open the mold and bullets to fall out. Tips of using this mold They need to be hot! The nose pieces are the hardest part to get warm and will cool the fastest. A lot of people try to avoid pouring the lead directly on the nose piece. I use a bottom pour and aim my stream at the side of the cavity as I fill. You can adjust how much the nose piece slides or tension more accurately, by using the Allen wrench to adjust the engagement mount of the pins into the nose piece. If I can help further PM me. I have four or 5 of his molds and enjoy them. Tom
I think you know this buuut, the no lube groove mold is for a bullet that is to be powder coated instead of traditional lubing.
