Louisiana Mandates Mask As Of Today

Post by Rube Burrows »

It is hard to get everyone on the same page here because of all the ridiculous inconsistencies.

Mom and Pops stores were order closed but larger chain businesses like Wal-Mart and Home Depot were jammed packed. This only hurt small business owners.

Closed down bars but big casinos can still operate like normal.

Yea....relax....it's the same stupidity everywhere........I figure it's easier to stay home and order online because we all know "who" the majority of spreaders and recipients are. Let em protest

One of the few good things about being retired is I can do that...stay home....only put 2-300 miles on the Jeep since March.---6

I have to say I like that better than my full face hunting mask.

What took them so long to make the rule? We've been under those restrictions for months!

Not real sure. We spiked a while back and they started coming down. They asked people to wear them a while back. Many do but many don't. Kind of starting to see a rise again. Our worst city was New Orleans. The Gov. just announced it Friday and it is supposed to be effective as of 9am today. In town today, looks about the same as always. Some do and some dont.

This is my take and it's racist in nature...I'm not a racist, I'm jokester. I worked with black guys for 44 years and they all knew me...they gave me a pass card if I said something that if others said, they'd be punching them out. Several came to my rescue at disciplinary hearings.

Everyone needs to be treated the same...no group can be singled out .....oK, fine.....but I see it like it is. Blacks and latinos, by nature are party people and like to be around others. They also by nature don't take life as serious as white anglos....they bypass many safety regulations. Prophylactics? What are they? :D They also tend to live in large groups, sometimes with 10-20 people in the same house.

I still do not know anyone who has had this covid stuff. Get the picture?---6

So when a law or regulation is passed read between the lines.

Keep in mind - the SAME 'public health experts' who tell you that "universal mask wearing saves lives" are the ones who constantly tell us that "background checks save lives" - then if you ask for any sound evidence as opposed to conjecture, or if you ask them their reaction to studies that show that universal mask wearing does NOT save lives (and in fact, like 'background checks', may actually be counterproductive, and make things worse), they simply accuse you of "not caring about old or frail people"...

I DEFINITELY advocate wearing masks when appropriate, just as I definitely would do a background check when selling a gun when appropriate. That is a far different thing than wanting government to mandate either thing.

Reasons to wear a mask:

a) as part of a proven-effective program to reduce transmission,
b) if a property owner or business whose property you are on requests it, or
c) if it makes others feel more comfortable.

That is, providing the danger/risk/social cost isn't bad enough to put anyone at risk.

Reasons NOT to wear a mask:

a) because some bureaucrat 'mandates' it
b) because a huge parasitic industry of CV-19 'accessories' thrives on it
c) because you are pressured to 'virtue-signal' by social justice warriors

Anyway - that's my take.

I agree with Dan Bongino - https://bongino.com/ep-1296-the-backlash-is-coming - he talks quite a lot about the actual data on CV-19 transmission, masks, opening schools, and so on.

What I don't get is why people aren't smart enough to remove their mask while driving in their own car with the windows up!? Are they wearing it inside their homes too? Then there is the toll booth operators, plexiglass , gloves on, masks and face shield... breathing exhaust fumes all day long?

I only wear a mask outside my vehicle in public otherwise I'm ignoring the mask garbage.

I hate the masks. Lowered oxygen levels to the point where it becomes a hazard is not my idea of how to keep you safe.

So the Governor just declared masks in Louisiana? No bill through the legislature? No public debate? No vote?

We in England have to wear a mask when shopping from Friday the 24th July or face a £100 fine but shop employees do not have to wear masks...
