RIP: Brian Dennehy (actor)

Post by Old No7 »

While many say those in Hollywood aren't "essential" these days, and I do understand their perspective...

I must say that actor Brian Dennehy was always one of my favorite character actors. I'm sure somewhere I saw him with a levergun in hand, but I can't recall at the moment... But I did find an image from Silverado below, where he has a 6-shooter...

"Brian Dennehy, a two-time Tony Award winner, has died. He was 81.

The actor’s daughter, Elizabeth Dennehy, announced the news on Twitter Thursday, telling fans that it was due to natural causes and not related to COVID-19.

“It is with heavy hearts we announce that our father, Brian passed away last night from natural causes, not Covid-related,” she shared. “Larger than life, generous to a fault, a proud and devoted father and grandfather, he will be missed by his wife Jennifer, family and many friends.”

RIP sir. Thanks for the movies and memories.

Sad news, I always enjoyed watching the various characters he played on screen. R.I.P.

He was great as Sheriff Will Teasle in Rambo: First Blood.

Silverado is one of my favorites, and it is one of the few westerns that I've seen appeal to "non-western" fans (or should I say "heathens"?). RIP...

Lots of varied parts he played. Sounds like a nicer cut of person than many of today's actors.

I enjoyed his acting, and regardless of the character he played he did the part well. Not a lot of westerns, but those he did I enjoyed.

Oh man, not another one. RIP.

Somewhere a hospital administrator is classifying him as Wuhan positive so they can claim the federal aid.

Goodbye, Cobb.

Goodbye, Paden.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Great scene.
Also thought he gave the best performance in Rambo.
