They are cool to see and to Me a pain to have around, the local flock is usually around 20 sometimes more. every time they are in the woods out back I scare them away, as they dig and scratch up all of the ground cover leaving mud everywhere. the leaves look like a rototiller was back there. with the Grandsons here we have all of the mud we need.

Do you have a hunting season on them ? Yes We do , but blasting one of them would be as much challenge as a deer in a pen. these are pretty used to people and I have to make a surprising amount of noise and commotion to scare them off. one morning the Wife counted 53 in the back yard / woods.

Well, it may not be much of a challenge, but it could be food. How is the food situation your way? Having never hunted nor eaten wild turkeys, I do not know what they taste like. I would hazard a guess that they are leaner and probably have tougher meat than the farm raised ones we get at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

He sure is...Hope ya get him!

Missed one last weekend....
Couldn't sit anymore, stood up and there was a hen about 75 yards in front of me...
Sat back down and watched the show for a while....then she disappeared.
About 45 minutes later....same deal....got up to stretch...and there he was...looking at me at 70+ yards...
Shot anyway....way short.. He flew away cussing me!
