It gets cold in Texas? :)

Pretty warm for a winter here in SD. Coldest we've seen so far is -11. Weird.

34 degrees here just on the North side of Waxahachie. The heater is going, and the fire is comforting. I have a chihuahua on my lap and an Irish Terrier on my feet.

It's snowing here on the San Gabriel River .. north of Georgetown. I got up at 1AM to check the water line and found it all white outside!

I miss my fireplaces -- and my many dogs. Think about them every day.

Yep. I used to dream of sitting in front of a roaring fire, in my overstuffed easy chair, dressed in my red plaid smoking jacket, sipping on a good sour mash whisky with my trusty Irish setter at my feet. Turned out I wound up sitting on a curb, freezing my butt off, drinking cheap vodka and a rat running by and sniffing at my grungy old tarp/rain cover looking for scraps...

I lit up the fireplace a few nights ago... opened the flue, racked out the ashes from several years back, drug some wood up from the wood shed, and proceeded to fill the house with smoke!!! Took 2 hours for the attic fan to suck out the smoke & 3 days to get the smell out! Guess I need a chimney sweep!

One of my bucket list items is to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a roaring fireplace. I tried to fullfill this dream the other night, apparantly this is against policy at Crackerbarrel.

3 or 4 inches of snow in NW Ohio. Burning propane at my place with my four mutts. Beagle-Walker mix, Parsons Russell, shorty Jack Russell and a curly tailed Heinz 57.
