Prayer Request

Post by Griff »

I've been distracted the past coupla days as late Tuesday afternoon, i got the news my Mom passed away. Mom turned 95, and while it's not unexpected, it came with a suddenness that is. My sister is a mess, as she was there with Mom. I'm out on the road working, get home tomorrow and fly ou to OR with my son on Sat. I was debating early on Tues. whether to leave truck in Fargo, ND & fly out... but i needed to deliver the load I had in the trailer on Wed morning. Cancelling the load I was to pick yesterday wouldn't have been too great a problem, but that became moot with the late afternoon news.

Gotta deal w/Sis as I'm the executor, and she is already divvin' up Mom's stuff. Tellin' me Mom said this & Mom said that. Yeah, she can be bossy. I need the prayers to help me NOT lose my cool.

You do need to stay cool and things will work out.
When my mom passed, I was the only relative in the Dallas area and had to arrange the funeral, determine the burial plot, coordinate my out of town brothers, see that all bills were paid, host the meeting at her house to manage the distribution of her belongings, and sell her house. It all worked out and she was buried in our family plot next to Dad and his parents and life went on.

My condolences and best wishes to you and your sister, Let me if I can be of any help.

Condolences. It's tough when you aren't preparing for it.

We just went through this. Well, are going through this. The will is in effect now, and what "Mom said" is of absolutely no legal standing. As executer you have legal responsibilities defined by state law. Unless you are one, you may want to talk to a lawyer. I wish you all the best.

Prayers UP for all of you, may the Peace of Holy Spirit dominate the tone of the immediate future.

Condolences!

Prayers sent for peace for you and your whole family. When my Dad's Mom died, some of the family acted up. Lots of things disappeared that were important, and that included family history paperwork. The family tree leading to Noah Webster disappeared. No one ever confessed to having it. May your Sister see that everyone misses your Mother and that keeping all her things for herself will not bring her back.

Prayers that it goes as smoothly as possible, as she no doubt would have wanted it to go.

You have my sympathy.

My mother died on 25-6-2019, aged ninety thee.

I am the "executor", she left a will.

I have no idea what probate is over there.

Best wishes and good luck with your sister.

Respectably yours, Mark

Prayers up Griff. Mother died a few years ago and my sister and I worked it out with no hard feelings. I still have a lot of stuff in the old barn.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Griff. I hope your mom left a specific will. It makes it easier for the executor to deal with family members. Meanwhile you are in my prayers, friend.

Prayers up Griff,
A death can sure bring out the worst in people. I've seen people turn into stark raving thieves at times like that. I hope you're able to keep your calm and everyone can stay calm.

You have my Prayers. I think you had better gently tell Sis that your Mom made you executor and she should not divide anything until you get there.

Sorry to hear about your mom.
Like some of the others here, I went through this just over two years ago as well. I was the exec, of my mom's estate. My sister showed after twenty years of living outside of the US and spouting orders. I had to remind here several times that my mother wanted everything split evenly in her will and that was exactly how it went.

Our thoughts are with you as you go through this.

Griff, so sorry for your loss, and hope this is going well.
