Morons give riders a bad name. Not that I'm some professional, but I've ridden since I was a little kid.

Also, very few people know how to ride in a group.
It actually takes a lot of skill. The best ones are the 1%er MC types, actually.
I always ride alone. My attention isn't divided and I'm not at the mercy of someone else with questionable skill lever.

I counted the posts last night knowing I was ""@&@" and decided let someone else win it....who wants to win "113"?" ..not me...figured you guys would be yapping all morning with the 1% er in the lead.....Jay....In dat picture of you you almost look like a 1%er......mean and baaaaaad...... ..

What's to win with 113? No body likes dat nummer...I dot like dat by de bro bees is das hood...damm, they have their own language.

Well....looks like another day of being simple minded. The guys at the club are having their twice a year buffalo match.....I used to like all that......then they are having a benchrest long range Silhouette match tomorrow which I was beginning to excel at last year but the weather said 10-20 mph winds.....takes the fun out of it.

If I was filthy rich like Old Savage I'd have my own 1,000 meter range with 30' walls on either side. I could call it the "Little Beaner Mexico Wall Range".

I was watching this video of these punks following a white guy and his wife after the RNC convention.....these were white girls following the duo......yelling in their face, "I'm gonna F you up".....over and over and over. ain't no way I'd be able to contain myself........baaaammmmmm! I'd elbow that bitch right in the face and pay the consequences...the same way I'm going to after catch a sign stealer....remember, when you get old and you still have some semblance of strength left and 99% of your life is behind you you don't hold back anymore.....baaammm! Knock em in da face ..baaaammmm!

Haha it's true! There are washing machines and refrigerators in the woods all full of holes.
When we was kids, we were driving through a woods road in my buddies 74 Firebird, yes you read it right, a Firebird on a woods road.
Anyway, we drive by this old washing machine and my bud driving sticks a .22 out the window and snaps a shot.
Slug bounced off something, came back through the window and popped him in the head.
We all got a big kick out of that. :D

A buddy of mine did the same thing except it was a 300 win mag, a steel plate and an AP about 30 yards! He still has a quarter sized scar on his belly. We think it was jacket...

Oh hey Six asked about my ONE WAY signs! We used to 'find' them along the road. They got nailed to trees along the driveway. Still have a STOP, NO RIGHT TURN and those 2. Oh and a yellow left turn warning sign.

Oh man...rednecks and washing machines....slug comes back and pops him on da head.. :D how about the beer cans? Were ya winging them out too and shooting them on the fly?

Glory days.....I believe there's nothing I didn't shoot, except a protester.......(that may be coming if they invade my adobe)

Let's see, forgot how many TV's, old stoves, cinder blocks, trees, rocks, cars, trucks, bottles, cans and drums floating down the stream, coons (4 legged), coons (2 legged), ovens, plate glass, telephone poles, wires, telephone pole transformers, people's inhabited houses, (remember the story about the crazy lady down the road?...my wife said I made her crazy...she's institutionalized), animals of every kind...(that's why I don't hunt anymore), road signs, traffic lights, church steeples, people on snowmobiles, motorcycles and regular pedestrians, warehouses full on TNT, Space Shuttle, satellites, the moon, bottles of liquor sitting on the shelves in stores.......

OK, funs over...did shoot a lot of TV's and old cars though....

Think I'm going to go to the long range match tomorrow....not sure yet....already told my BIL I'd pick him up at 10....as it's Sunday the match can't start till noon...practice at noon, match at 1.....this all means I don't have to get up until 9:30 so that's why I'm going?...006

I started the 'home appliance' slam years ago but never had the $ to finish it. What is the home appliance slam?
The rules are simple, you have a year to shoot 1 of everything, washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer,tv,computer, dishwasher, AC, etc. you must engage each appliance in its natural environment, it must be on its last legs ( mature) and it has to be replaced- that's where the $ becomes a problem!

Years ago a buddy of mine had a 67 ford pickup he was going to restore when he got out of the Army. His brother and I were out putzing around with our 22s. I said hey I bet you can't hit the drivers mirror- we were about 100 yes away. Well that started it. Had to be more than 5000 rounds of 22s in it, high power Ammo by the hundreds- including AP & tracer. Shotgun slugs, buckshot too. Even had some homemade 'stuff' in it. Well when it was decided the truck had to go they picked it up with a trachoe to put it on a trailer- it fell apart in mid air so they dug a hole and buried it.

Tried one of the best in the world bourbons last night, Nica, made in Japan. I'm not all the impressed! Has an oily feel, not great flavor... I'll stick to JD Green label.

Yup! Good old JD. A name you can trust.

Let's see.......last appliance I shot was an old refrigerator in the woods with my old 1st gen Colt SAA .45. Man! Did that puppy rip some big ole holes!

Ok I've had it with blue jays! Rotten birds are emptying the feeder in a day! 5lbs of sunflower don't grow on trees ya know. So the feeder i have has a battery powered motor in the base to spin squirrels off. I just noticed if 2 blue jays get on at once it starts to spin. I just added 450 grains of solder to the perch. Ill add weight until it spins when 1 blue jay lands. If i could get away with it I'd warm up the 410!

Oh Lordy! My pants have a little "something extra" in them.......Gunny...I never heard of anything like that...a squirrel spinner!

THAT ,my fine compadre is genius!

Yea...needed that laugh...just got home from the club...got my face all smashed in from the guys calling me a big P for not showing up at the matches........as usual, I BLEW 5 shots of the 500 meter rams by using the wrong untested Berger 80 grainers....well, I shot two before the match and they hit.......after the five misses I switched back to the Sierra's and got 4 out of 5 with a total run of 29 x 40...top man got a 39.

A buddy of mine got a new $7,000 rig....$4500 of custom space rifle and a $2500 Nightforce scope. ...I beat him! Well, he is new to the gun and does not have a finished load...weird caliber 6.5 x 47 Lapua....looks like a cut down .243

Won second place in my class and the match director told me I was sandbagging so he moved me up to AA.......---006

Six, for the sign stealers... sit on the porch with a camera and telephoto lens, take picture of sign, as car slows, make sure to zoom in on license plate, take picture of guy getting out of car... then a picture of him stealing or defacing sign, then getting back in car... and one last one as the car drives away, making sure to zoom in on the license plate. Call cops, report theft of campaign literature, show cop evidence. Say, "YES I'M FILING A COMPLAINT!" "That sign cost $____.__ (however much you've contributed to Trump's campaign... hopefully it'll total up to be a FELONY! Follow up with detective the next day, and if the street cop didn't file a report, report his azz! Far less strenuous then running all over the lawn and has less potential to get your azz whipped or landed in jail on felony assault over a lousy misdemeanor theft!

Oh yea, don't use video... cops will lose attention too fast unless it's porn!

Thanks Griff......great idea but not very time effective......it was a stroke of luck that I saw the ones I did. Even if I had a telephoto which I don't I still would not be able to see the plate as the road runs perpendicular to the house and I can only see the side of the car.

I was hoping for "dumb luck".....which means I get a good look at the car and any distinguishing marks, then jump in the Jeep and drive around. There's a park down the road and I'm thinking these punks will steal the sign then go hang out in the park....then after I'm sure it's them I'll just back the Jeep into them and let the trailer hitch ball drive in their car.....then take off hoping I'll drag em around for awhile.....I'll zig zag and do some donuts watching their eyes bulge out with frightening fear then head for a tree and I'll just miss the tree but they will get hung up on it so I'll be able to free myself and go home and have a beer.----006

Six now is the time of year to find trail cameras. Tractor Supply usually has them. Pick up a cheaper Cam and set it up to catch both sign and car.

Glad you went to the match! Now this week go test those Bergers!

Finally! I got through to a real live human at the IRS! I tell ya its not easy to prove who you are if they question it. I dialed the phone at 0730, finally got off the phone around 0945. I proved to them im who filed this recent return. They owe me a little bit of money, 9 weeks to be processed!

Wow! I'm impressed with your patience and diligent determination to deal with a bunch of "government social workers" with the IQ of a spare tire.....a flat one at that.

Had an issue with them about 15 years ago...they sent me a bill for $2,800 and said I had 30 days to pay it or they were going to take it out of my account....if your wrong and they have the proof it's not worth the hassle so I paid it.......THEY are the most corrupt organization in the world...akin to loansharking and pyramid investments.

Trail camera's?? Not a bad idea....I do have a tree...about the only one left.....about 15' from the signs.........I would prefer my method but I don't think it would go over too well with the cops.

Was thinking of digging a hole near the signs, just big enough to me to stand in with a wooden ladder with a grass covered piece of plywood with a peep hole...when they come, I'll open the cover and charge up the ladder with a helmet and the BAR, blasting everything in sight. ...pull out the KaBar and finish off any lucky survivors.......then take their car, pull it in the driveway.....and have a beer! :D

That idea is really what is needed to instill fear in these morons. All it would take is a pressure switch and a gross of firecrackers rigged to the sign somehow. Or better yet dig a pit trap by the sign. Say about 7 foot deep. Go out in the morning and see who has fallen in ! That way you can get good pictures as you can call the police. Drink your coffee while you wait.
Oooh- how about an eletric fence hooked up to it ?

Yeah, I had to get my identification sorted out with the IRS. They wouldn't release my refund until I did. Ill say this, the couple people I spoke with were professional, courteous and respectful. Unlike what I was thinking !!

Gunny,
Why don't you just make a chute from a basement window and let em slide down? No basement window? You know, like they did in the old days with coal.

OK, give me about a half hour and I'll be over.........hold your hand on your A and wait for me to get there.

II made a K.A. driveway stone leveler today .......pull it the mighty Kubota or its light enough to pull by hand....maybe 50 pounds.....about four passes once every couple of months and she looks new again. I'll NEVER have a macadam driveway again. Well, there's one underneath it but stone looks more "country". No more $500 worth of sealer to deal with. $50 worth of stone spread out lasts two years.....if my wife is looking for one of her large dog cages and calls you guys play dumb. :D It was the perfect sized wire/steel .....2"x4" rectangular and boxed off with 1"x6" oak and pulled with a piece of nylon rope....

I still can't find her head.....looked in the weeds, along the RR ties, everywhere. :D ----006

Six I tried making a ramp with 2x12s that I put a layer of Masonite on. Was too slippery, bags went off the side and broke open. Then I stole- er borrowed a roller conveyor, the bags were going so fast the would slide across the floor and break open. So I just pick up the bag carry it down 5 steps and stack them. If i make the plywood boxes ill make a chute with the 8 inch pvc pipe i have.

Well there.
A picture is worth a thousand words. :D

I often think back on the old days. Then I thank God there weren't any phone cameras.........then I kinda wish there had been.
A good buddy was a bit of a photog back in the day and he has a lot of pics of us. I remember we always used to try and get a picture of the first guy to puke. None of me in that stack. I'm proud of that. :D
Some are pretty funny. One guy with what looks like full length spaghetti, minus the sauce flying out of his face back into the pot we cooked it in a few hours earlier.
From that day till now, he was known as "Spaghetti Bob".
Good times man. :D

Seems like my grandfather was still alive and kicking yesterday...he did live to be 96....life goes on......wish I would have known how short it was when I was young and I wouldn't have built a two room log cabin in the mountains and got a job pumping gas.......to hell with all of this materialism.....it's all superficial.

Well......drizzling again outside.....looks like a loading day in da basement but before that I'll eat a big bowl of Lima beans with butter so I can fart all afternoon......I'll get my Zippo lighter and flame a few...hey! WTF else is there to do????..
What??? I can't be 12 years old anymore????..... :D

Yes he was 82! Of course there are no records, figure 1861. Grandma was smart, by marrying him she got off the reservation, he was a Justice of the peace and owned a general store. She was 18 or so.

Red Neck Rotor Turning

Post by Sixgun »

Damm! Hell of a story Gunny.....reminds me of the last surviving Civil War spouse who recently died....he was an old dude in the 1930's and married a young girl so she could get his pension....and she got it.

Hey ....you want a good laugh? I put brakes on the front of the Jeep last month without changing the rotors...I've done it several times before with no issues....sometimes they will stink for awhile until the new pads mesh with the old rotors.....My Jeep continued to stink when the rotors got hot and would actually hold the wheel a bit......after pulling it in the garage and leaving it in neutral it was hard to push the Jeep.

I have wheel spacers on that are locktited and it's a pain in the Pelosi to remove them, clean the threads and relocktite them etc. so today I jacked up the entire Jeep, took off the front wheels, took off the calipers, started the Jeep up, put in 4 WD and second gear and let out the clutch...........while the wheels were spinning I was holding 80 grit sandpaper against the rotor, especially the raised rusted area that was holding the edges of the pads when the rotors got hot........got the Makita angle grinder out to do the job faster........cleaned it all up, used brake cleaner, put everything back together and went for a drive for about five miles with half the time holding the brakes on a bit to get em hot...

Backed into the garage amd NO STINK!.... :D THATS REDNECK ROTOR TURNING.. :D -----006

Wow Gunny! That is an impressive hombre. Must have got about four guy's worth of testosterone. :D

Good job Six! Now, if you would have done that in the dooryard under the big tree, you'd qualify as a Maine hick auto mechanic. :D

Jack. That is a new one on me. I have heard of people using a 2 inch sanding disc on a pneumatic scoffer bit never heard of an angle grinder while the rotor was spinning.
I finally got the lifter/carrier tog welded for the 50-110. My buddy now has it to polish out for the longer and larger case.

Well......big day tomorrow....going out to the dooryard and drink a six pack of Old Milwaukee, maybe put the Kubota on a couple of cinder blocks then go over Tom's house and steal his 50-110.........would that qualify me for a pass to visit Maine? :D ----6

Tom...only used the angle grinder to cut down the raised area of rust...easy..just hold it parallel to the spinning rotor and 3 seconds later it's flat......then the sandpaper on a 2x4 and hold it flat while the rotor turns....that baby came out like new.

I see guys with wheel spacers around here, like 6" spacers on 3/4 ton pickups with huge rims and low profile tires. Looks STUPID as sleepy joe! Can't imagine a 8-9,000 lbs truck rides very nice!

Ok, which one of you is waking me up at 4 am? WINNIE! Go back to sleep! Every morning- I'm going to send her to you Six so you can start getting out of bed during daylight

Ok coffee is done!

I think B.B. should be recognized as an American pastime........it's funny how it works...my pals can call me anything they want or do most anything as long as it does not involve destruction.....but......if a stranger or an individual whom I consider UNamerican calls me a weirdo...watch out!

Just a HEADS UP for you gearheads and other backyard mechanics........

I was telling you guys earlier about the FLEX SEAL tape I bought.....well, two or three days ago I was using the push mower to do some trimming. It has a Honda engine........when I mow I usually move fast and sometimes unpredictable......I was mowing around my little yard trailer and hit the tongue and the engine shut off instantly.....I knew there was a problem..a big problem by the way it shut off........so.....I wheel it into the garage and notice a dent on the front face of the engine....mmmm....WTF is that?........it had 4 bolts but didn't look like a cylinder head....mmmmmm.........well, I pop off the four bolts and pry off the cover and oil runs all over the place......ITS A VALVE COVER.........MMMMMMMmmmmm WTF did I do????

So, I get out a flat faced piece of wood and pound out the valve cover and I notice the one valve/spring is bent in....well, I had nothing to lose so I got out my vise grips, hammer, channel locks and a big screwdriver and pounded it back out using my eyes as a guide...........looked good to me...........

I pulled the starter string and she fired up instantly...good-to-go...

Went to get my gasket material and none was to be found except one partially opened tube......yea...you know what happens to these things once you open them.

Was thinking about using epoxy......went in da house and told mom I was going to take a ride to the auto parts store and she said, "why don't you try your new FLEX TAPE?" I LOVE this gal.......thinking it might work as the valve cover is not a high heat area......anyway, I cut out a "gasket", degreased everything to like new, put it on and bolted it up.....added oil.....fired it up and cut the rest of the grass,,,,,,maybe 20 minutes...........shut it off........let it sit.....NO LEAKAGE!.....two days later, still no leakage.

I'm going to write them a letter and maybe they will send me another free roll. :D win...win.....win.....just like Donald Trump...the winning never stops!!!!!! B.B. to my enemies--------006 Secret Agent .....(I do things and go places I can't tell my wife about)

Hey! Good fix buddy!
You win the redneck engineering award for the month of September. That flex seal stuff is pretty awesome.
Lots of people here drag old aluminum boats into ponds and leave em there. Access is rough in some places. Some ponds will have a bunch of old boats, canoes and outboards laying around the shores. Sometimes guys will go back after years and the boats are in rough shape. It's more bailing than fishing. I told a buddy to carry a can of flex seal spray with you and give it a squirt on the leaky spot. Works great.

You ain't alone Gunny. Maggie and the Z-dog do the same with us some mornings. They usually work as a team.

Kinda like the great big heavy length of chain I found along the railroad in CO. had to be 5/8 x 5" links. Was only about 8 foot long. I had to drag it back to my truck when I found it at a prairie dog town. Anyhow I found it a second time with the push mower when cutting the high weeds in the silage pit. Bet the crankshaft!! I borrowed a lead hammer from school and a few whacks here & there and it straightened out and ran just fine.

Wood pellets showed up at about a quarter to 3, by 5 I had all but 14 bags in the basement. Those 14 bags were water damaged. Sawdust compressed into pellets revert back to Sawdust! I called the company I got them from- of course the manager was not in today...

Lots of action lately...I sent Jazman a PM and Jay got it!! Good thing I didn't write Jay's combination to his safe in it. (I-8-1-2)

I bet Flex Seal does more business in Appalachia and maybe Maine than in the rest of the country, combined! It sure does around here...I LOVE that stuff...it's currently holding our bathtub to keep it from falling in the basement.

Gunny...are YOU telling me you straightened out a crankshaft by whacking it.......and the connecting rod/bearing didn't get out of round? Wow! That's what I call an "eye". Brown eye? Chocolate Starfish?

Gunny...hitting a chain? NOTHING compared to hitting cable. I hit a piece of 3/8" x 25' cable this spring......it was from the tornado and I just chucked it to the side by the fence....grass grew around it and on the first cutting of the year the not-so-mighty Kubota hit that and shut off the 34 horse diesel INSTANTLY......it was wound up tight around all three blades .......NO WAY I was going to undo that...had to take the blades off.

Moral of the story....if you want to pee off someone because of something they did to you just throw some old cable in their yard, even cheap 1/8" stuff if you have to buy it. :D Figure....say.....only 10 feet will ruin their day, especially if they are not mechanically minded.....paint it green and just wing it out the window....it'll bind up the whole gizmo.

Thinking further, save the wiring from anything you throw out.....put it in a five gallon bucket ......you can even ask Jay to check out old refrigerators, ovens, washing machines, etc that are on the side of the road or in people's dooryards in Maine....Jay usually carries "tools of convenience" in his hip pocket so he will be ready......he just has to be "able" so we will enable him by offering free prizes for buckets of wiring.----006

I must be officially old. Seems every subject that comes up, I got some story.
Worst "windup" I had was on my first Jeep. Up here there are many old grown over farms. We always carry wire cutters in our Jeeps and four wheelers.
When I was a kid, my first Jeep was a 59 CJ5. We were riding around in the woods one day and I noticed the Jeep seemed to be loading up and slowing. Being a stupid kid, I just applied more throttle. Finally, she just stopped. I leaned out and saw the drivers rear tire was sucked into the rim on both sides by barbed wire. It also had a basketball sized bunch balled around the driveshaft. We had been dragging a string of wire out through the woods for who knows how far. I had an old double bit axe luckily. What a mess.

Oh man! Barbed wire! (NO! being able to have a story to anyone's claim does not mean your old...it's means you've LIVED and just didn't sit around watching TV, drinking cheap Old Crow and eating fatty pork sandwiches. :D

That is funny though....barbed wire around the driveshaft. Well, funny to me, not so much to you.
