I just saw that Titanic II is due to set sail in 2022. The new ship is going to be a copy of the orignal to the finest details BUT made of modern materials with state of the art electronics- sure hope that includes iceberg radar !
Seems the Chinese are footing the bill.

19th century design combined with Chinese construction? No Thanks. I've seen too many news videos of collapsed Chinese made buildings and bridges. Japan's Bullet Train has a 100% safety record. The Chinese steal the design and make a poor copy of it and it has crashed several times in it's short life. Again, no thanks. A couple of the Titanics design flaws was that water-tight compartment had open tops so that with enough angle one flooded compartment could (and did) overflow into the next. Also, the rudders were too small so emergency evasive maneuvers were SLOW to impossible. I hope they at least will address these problems.

Back in the mid 50’s my pop was stationed in Great Britain seems we had an Air Firce base of sorts at a place called Bry’s Norton I think . Anyway a year or two after my mom passed he told me he wanted to go to GB and see if the base was still there . So I said sure and looked into airfare prices . When I told I had found reasonably priced air tickets he said “Oh no I wanna go by ship” and I saw d “Oh no if ya wanna go we’re flying I don’t wanna spend two weeks on a ship round trip when I can fly over and back in 12-16 hours . All that cruise stuff is for the birds and the Navy
