30-30 AI rechamber

Post by bsaride »

Thinking of a rechamber for my vintage marlin.
I would like to know in detail what is required as far as tools and anything else.
Thanks,

You just need a barrel vise to remove the barrel and put it back on . A chamber reamer and head space gauges .

I will say most guys (that I've talked to) that do barrels say swapping out or removing and putting barrels on lever guns is a little more tricky then a bolt action as you "can" torque the action if you're not carefull .

If I did one I would not remove the barrel. Take the bolt out and ream it by hand. Take it slow , use cutting oil , flush frequently. Lightly polish chamber when done.
