New gun with a Lever.

Post by gamekeeper »

I know I'll get flamed for no photos but I've tried and failed (sorry)
Anyway the best way to describe my latest acquisition is that at first glance it looks a bit like a Savage 99 with double triggers and a tube magazine.
Unfortunately it's nothing as exotic, it is a Marocchi o/u 410 with 26" barrels 3" chambers and choked 3/4 + extra full, complete with a full under Lever which may have influenced my choice somewhat!
I may not keep the top barrel so tightly choked but I will have to check the patterns first. It looks quite well made and does not look to have had a lot of use.
Sorry again for the lack of photo's.

So is light an handy being scaled for the 410 or is it based on bigger frame?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

It is built on a 410 frame, I don't know if this model came in any other gauge, it weighs about 6 pounds but is all steel and walnut. I have only fired a few shots to test the action and patterns and it seems good to go on squirrels and if they ever come back around here rabbits...

Many thanks,
My old lap top let me do such things but my tablet won't play fair.
That is the same model, they seem quite rare, as I can not find much info on them.
