Early BLR Serial Numbers

I own several Belgian BLRs and I've encountered conflicting info while trying to determine when the guns were made. All that I've found seems to indicate that the SN would be a 4 digit or higher number followed by "K" and a two digit year code. One of the guns I have is "55x K69" That is only 3 digits. What's up? The other guns I have, do comply with this format up to "2628x K71".

I found this site while seeking BLR info and couldn't resist joining. This is my first post and I'm wondering if any more info is available. Thanks in advance for any inut.

Here is a link to an article I wrote about the history of BLR's. http://pumprifle.org/index.php/member-a ... rowningblr As you will see, the issue with 1969 made BLR's was a little difficult to verify. I have heard a rumor of one other 69 issue, but could never get any details - other than it supposedly only had the three digits in the s/n like yours.

If you can, please post photos of yours with all the various markings. You may be able to solve the mystery for us.

I am begining to believe there were a few 69's (obviously yours is marked that way) that did make it out of the factory and it appears those may have only three digits for the s/n. Just for info purposes, make sure you note the part of the article concerning US made prototypes and see if yours falls into that category.

Sorry for the delayed response. Things have been a little challenging lately.

Finally, we get to see what has to be a 69 production BLR. If you get a chance to post some more pictures, please do. Frame profile, stock - well everything would help.
