So what's on your firearms bucket list?

This has probably been posted before, but these things change over time anyway! SInce joining this site I've added quite a few leverguns to my wishlist of firearms I want to own. I've been a shooter/hunter forever, but for one reason or another I've been remiss in my gun buying over the years! I hope to change that from now on! There have been a number postings on this site where my only real input is to mention the fact that it is yet another rifle (or pistol, or shotgun, or atlatl, or whatever) that is on my bucket list. So what's on your firearm wishlist? Here's mine (I actually have a word document with all this stuff on it, so I don't loose track. You know, just in case!)

There's a few shotguns, flintlocks, and other guns I wouldn't mind having and wouldn't turn down if someone wanted to give me one, but the above are the ones I want first! It was a much shorter list before finding this site, that's for sure!

I've gotten to the point I'm getting picky. I have guns in my safe that haven't seen a round down the tube in years. I'd really like to get a nice BBQ gun (S&W Schofield 2000 or a Colt SAA, both dolled up), an Win. 1894, oct. bbl. in 38-55, a Ruger #1 undetermined cal., a 375 H&H bolt rifle and maybe a couple others, but for the most part I'm covered.

A nice Shiloh Sharps.... Maybe 45-70, or 38-50. Long, heavy bbl. Something to pick off pop cans at 300yds and feel all big headed about it

I'd like to trade in my current Shiloh Sharps Montana Roughrider in .45-100 for a fancy-looking Shiloh in .40-65 or .45-70 (something that doesn't kick the bejabbers out of me during a silhouette match).

I also want a reproduction '73 or '92 Winchester deluxe rifle in .44-40.

I figure about $6,000 ought to cover it. I've already started saving and am up to $15.00 so far!

Deadly accurate 22LR for small group shooting to 75 or 100 yards. If money was no issue an Anschutz but probably a CZ in left bolt. Getting tired of all the expense of centerfire and everything I own is iron sighted. One scoped bolt would fill my safe well.

Also a Browning BPS Shotgun in the straight stock short barrel Uplander in 20 gauge. Get all the kicking I want from my centerfire rifles and boss.

Shiloh Sharps - caliber doesn't really matter, but it will probably be a 45-70 for practical reasons
'73 - probably in 44-40
'92 - undetermined caliber
'76 - 45-70, again for practical reasons
'86 - redundant, I know, but again probably in 45-70
'94 or variant - .32 Special or something else besides a 30-30
Springfield SOCOM
Wild West Guns 1895 takedown

Handguns:

A nice Colt SAA in .45 Colt, another in 32-20, and another in 44-40
A good quality 1911, one of the only guns I've regretted trading off

4" Ruger Redhawk in .45 Colt

A myriad of different handguns customized by Hamilton Bowen

This probably isn't all of them, but it's the best I can do off the top of my head.

Rifles, all I want is a Uberti lever action in .32/20, I've almost given up trying to find an original over here.
Shotguns, decent little .410 for squirrels.

Well the list goes on and on, but the next item up will probably be a Kalashnikov in .308. Either a Yugo M77/90 or a converted Saiga is likely, but a Valmet would be my top preference.

As for levers, something in .25-35 and .45-70 are top of the list.

Like kim and Hobie, I'm moving the stuff that hasn't been shot in a while or the stuff that just didn't keep my attention once the new wore off. I realized the other day, there's more platforms and calibers I'd be interested in trying rather than actually owning.

The actual want list is pretty short:
Win 74 (preferably .22S only but the LR will suffice)
stainless OM Bearcat (unconverted if such a thing exists. I don't know when the SS Bearcats were brought out)
.22 Martini
Custom Martini in some undetermined caliber OTHER THAN .32 Spl!

Custom RRB in 6.5x55 (or some other single shot platform besides the TC and Handi)
OM unconverted 6.5" Ruger BH in either .357, .44S or .45 Colt (I'll probably end up with two calibers)

The maybe list is an ATD of some flavor

The list of stuff I'd simply like to try would take up too much bandwidth.

Not a rifle but I've got a whole bunch of Dillon reloading stuff to add 30-06 to my caliber list. Caliber Conversion kit, Quick Change kit, Large Rifle Casefeeder Plate, Toolhead, Stand and Trim Die, Lee Pacesetter Dies, Case Gauge, etc. Its for my M1 Garand and son's late 1950 Model 70.

I'm with the BBQ gun comments. Have got a very nice SAA, but not one all dolled up (and I am not even prone to...but as you get older...

). I've even locally got one of the best engravers waiting for me, but he'll be waiting awhile yet I'm afraid.
Otherwise:
- Nice 1911 bobtail commander. Thinking DW Guardian on up.
- USFA Double Eagle.44 Sp
- Bowen (et al) .327 Single Six conversion, then Turnbull CCH'd
- Bowen (et al) .32-20/.327 conversion New Vaquero, then Turnbull'd.
- .32-20 lever, probably a 92 SRC. Sad thing is I "let one go"--helped a friend recently sell his ca 1902. Just didn't have the jingle to play myself (ditto a nice .44-40 SRC).
- Have my .44 Sp New Vaq 4.62" Turnbull'd. Can't quite warm to the all blue (Ruger-style anyway, at least in a fixed sight). It's either going to make its way to Mr. Turnbull or get antiqued, one or the other, to give it the character it deserves. Don't have the time to wear it to the point it'll d it itself!
- Nice O/U 16, maybe an auto too..
- Win. Featherweight Classic 7mm-08 or Super Grade .270.

I started thinning the herd of safe queens a couple of years ago in order to purchase some new stuff that intertested me.
The two things I most think about having are original winchester hi-wall in shootable condition (preferably a 40-65,40-82, or 45-70) and a really nice engraved gun for what else? A bar-b-que.........!
BTW I would consider foregoing the hi-wall for an original 1876......at least for awhile.

In North Africa during WWII, my Uncle acquired one of those. When they finished up there and were shipped out to continue the war in the European Theater, he had to destroy in because he couldn't take it with him. He said that destroying that drilling nearly broke his heart. My Grandfather was a blacksmith and trained my Uncle enough that he could do basic smith work, heat treat metals, and appreciate extremely fine metalwork. Uncle Homer said that drilling was the finest firearm he ever had. I do not recall if he ever said what caliber the rifle barrel was, or what gauge the shotgun barrels were.

There's one I keep an eye out for. I let one slip away years ago and now regret it. A right handed Randall 1911 Service Model. I bought one of the three or four hundred left handed models as soon as they came out. Years later, the same dealer was "cleaning" out his safe and has a right handed model for sale. He was a friend, so I told him he could likely get more than the couple hundred he was asking. Shoulda bought it. He sold it for almost a grand.

I saved up some cash for the last couple of years just to buy something new....and nothing. I don't seem to really want anything. I muse once and awhile, but the desire for any particular item passes. So, no firearms bucket list for me.

Every single one I have handled has been a work of art. Unfortunately I let one get away, just couldn't raise the $$, that was in 30/30/20/20. THAT would be the caliber/gauge that I most want.

For a relatively inexpensive rifle, I think the Buffalo Classic is a heck of a deal. Mine is an early one marked "Wesson & Harrington". While not in the same league as a Sharps, Rolling Block or High Wall, they are very accurate rifles and a lot of fun to shoot.

Not that I don't covet new and existing cool guns that I don't presently own... but my thing is the time to shoot and a multi-distance range to shoot on.

I'm very thankful for the guns that I have and the range and ability to shoot "over lunch or after diner" is what I anticipate... and not worry where the brass goes, cause it's all mine and I can pick it up or not as I get the time...

I just bought some acreage in Mississippi and a range is in the plans - as far out as I can get it - the land is not flat though and I may have to make a shoot tower or something to allow for the longer ranges - 500 yards max would tickle me silly.

I am really looking forward to getting there.

I just moved from Pa to NYS
In Pa you can get a 80/20 Medical Plan(for a family of 3)that has a $2500 Deductible (first 6 office visits co-pay $30)for---------$300@month
This is what I used when in Pa because its much cheaper than my retirement Medical Plan(even though the deductible was a little higher)
Now, in NYS (somethings up)there is only one plan available for someone to choose if you don't use or have a retirement medical plan or unless you still are working somewhere and they give you their plan.
What does it cost?------------------------$1500@Month

And I thought my pension medical was high

WTF-----------??????
Pa has 86 plans to choose from-----------and NYS has 5 in which 4 are for self employed only????????(and that 1===$1500@month)

This needs to be told to FOX News or someone(60 minutes???)and have this investigated.

If it was just myself, I would be happy with a 5 or 10 thousand dollar deductible and never use it unless the something real bad happened???
In NYS 1 year payment of what if would net many/many people just trying to live the good life with a ist year bucket of $18000 in it.

Now that I am still pretty young and retired and have a lot of time-------------maybe I will start the ball rolling.
