B92 44 Mag Another Republican pick up

Post by Old Savage »

While this can of Republican whoopass is being opened, here is one I picked up tonight. NIB. Let a 357 get away from me years ago and now this 44 is back. :D

I haven't worked up a cast load for my 44s yet. I've been shooting Magtech 44A through the B92 and the SuperRedhawk. Plan on taking a mule deer or whitetail with one of them this year. I'll load hunting rounds back with Hornady 240 gr XTP and lead for reduced load plinking. If I can find the right mould, I'll try to use a 5744 load since I buy it 8 pounds at a time. I'll start with one of these:

240 gr Lyman 429667
5744 21.6 1272
5744 24.0 1446 34,500

As soon as I recover from the economic impact of buying a Browning 71, .348 bullets, and .348 moulds, I am definitely getting what I need for the .44. A couple of weeks ago I found a .357 mould in my reloading room that i forgot I had purchased and never used. Gotta find a .357 rifle to go with my 1851 Conversion I picked up last year.

This set-buying is a wonderful addiction :D

Hey, Old Savage keeps telling us we can't hit anything past 25 yards without a scope. So I figure he's gonna set the example for the rest of us.

Joe, Joe, Joe - heresy - scope a 92, perish the thought. And, I did use a 4X scope on that three point at less than 25 yards and it was a 45-70. I got a very good look at the fire in his eyes.

The Republican can of whoop butt seems to have stopped short of CA. We appear poised to re-elect Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer. This state is sooooo stupid. -Tutt

Seriously Doc, very nice catch. I really like a good receiver sight on my B92 in .357, I've had/got a couple rigged out that way and they work very well. The .44mag B92 I used to have shot better groups with lighter bullets in the 200-225gr range than it did the 240's. Never shot anything heavier than that.

Yep, most of the sane ones I grew up with in Norther California left about the time I did back in 1980.

My wife and I met Jerry Brown in his office in Sacramento one Sunday morning in 1978. A good friend from college was on his staff and set it up. Just the four of us and not a ton of political talk. He struck me as a man who'd been elected because he was the son of a famous governor, Pat Brown, and really didn't have anything important to say himself.

That was back in the time when he drove an old Plymouth to work every day, slept on a bed on the floor, and to our surprise, wore a shiny suit with a white shirt that had frayed sleeves and collar. He looked to us like a make believe politician rather than the leader of the seventh largest economy in the world at that time. Very strange.

Nice looking 44 MAG. I'm still refinishing the stock on my new Rossi 92 in 44MAG. Haven't even shot the thing yet.

I sure do like my Browning 92 in 44 mag. However, I have been lazy and not worked up a handload for it, partly because I stumbled on to a factory load that seems to work really good in it. I have been shooting Magtechs in it, and they feed 100% and seem to be quite accurate, so I havn't tried anything else, but maybe I will get around it it, one of these days.

I also sold a B92 357 some years ago (An act of stupidity that I still kick myself for) and acquired a B92 carbine this year in 44M.

Very nice! I keep hearing that the B92's are very well made. Congrats!
