I have two smaller safes by Liberty, a 30 gun and a 24 gun. ( neither of which, of course, holds any where near that many) I like the idea better than one huge one in case I ever have to move it will be much easier and if I dont like them in one spot, I can unbolt them and my wife and I can easily (...

For your generator, you might look at the Onan's that run on propane, since you will have the propane right there anyway. Also check into a dedicated panel for your water well pump system so it operates independantly of your main system, might be more efficient. Also, most people I know who have gon...

Here's something to chew on :x The gun control issue is on the move, and the politicians want in." - Chicago Sun Times, February 11, 2008 Dear Jerry, This is truly the year for your Brady Campaign and for common sense gun laws. First, Congress passed, and the President signed, the NICS bill to ...

Kind of a long shot here, (levergun pun!), but you might check to see if the cartridge guide spring is catching and hanging up the fired case. It is the flat spring above the chamber that guides the cartridge into the chamber. If they get bent down they can catch. Happened to me about 6 months ago....

At one time when I was still in the service back in about 1976 or so, we put in a solar hot water system. Worked GREAT, reduced my power bill by about 80%. Always had 80 gallons of hot water, water was so hot it had to go thru a cold water mixing valve to get it down to a safe temp before it went to...

I still have a brick of Montgomery Ward's .22 shells, must have had them since the 1970's at least. Your description raises several questions for me... before I could formulate an answer beyond what you've been given already. Have you fed the cartridges into the chamber from the top, by hand? If so, do they slide in easily, or are they stopping before the rim is fully against the breech of the ba...

My Marlin 30-30 problems.
I recently purchased a Marlin 336a 30-30, made I believe in about 1948 or so. Very nice condition indeed, no wear or rust whatsoever, a few little handling marks, an easy 95% gun. Bright shiney bore. Thought I had the hot setup for silhouette, but now I am beginning to wonder. I have run about...

Question on Model 94 Winchester problem
My friend has a model 94 Winchester, one of the commemoratives, that we are getting rigged up for silhouette. The problem arises when trying to close the bolt on a round, the last 1/4 inch or so of the lever travel is very stiff and hard to close, then if you put enough pressure on it, it sort of sn...

I use the Lyman 17a with a post insert. Using a post is different than using a bead, with the bead you put the bead on the target, with the post you use a 6 o'clock hold. The trouble with the bead is that it tends to cover up the whole target, particularly at further distances, while with the post y...
