A young Female co-worker of mine recently inherited a SAA that has been in Her family forever.today She brought a few pics that werent the best and the serial # she took off the frame was 34,294. any idea when it was made? if I can get some pics and more information I will post them here. Thanks.

The Legacy I bought new with the rebounder and tang saftey had the worst out of the box trigger of any firearm I have ever owned....others have not had as bad of an experience as I,but I would sure want a 3 day return period. just my 02.Good Luck.

Remington .338 Marlin ammo.
Shot the 250grn Remington ammo today off the picnic table,resting on a sleeping bag. thought it best to shoot 10 rounds before I messed with the scope. this ammo shoot like a dream. the bottom group has 5 shots inside 1". I was amazed.

Very Nice, My little 99,303 takedown is 98 years old and I find the design a true marvel. just think what a stir it would cause today if a new rifle was brought out with all the features of the 99. starting with a no tool takedown system that requires about 20 seconds. .

I sure don't know much but I have the standard old Marlin with the 22" barrel.it aint fish nor fowel but what ever you ask of it within reason it will do.it is everymans 45-70. if the extra 2" really bothers Ya alot an there aint no smith around cut off 2" and remount the front sight....

I know for Me that the '73 would last along time in .44mag. with the short 19" barrel and all of the drop in the stock, fullhouse .44 loads would be ugly. I could better understand it in the 24" sporting rifle.

Find a decent older used marlin.want to pull the bolt out? takes about 90 seconds the first time. clean it, oil it. want to mount a reciver sight? Bob,if it was mine I would not do a thing other than oil it and get it repaired for function. the patina or age on it tells a story. other than a full restoration an inexpensive blue job usually looks cheap and will do nothing for the worth of it .

Glad You are here to tell about it. years ago an older co-worker of mine lost his Son.He was working in a mower repair shop I think in Twinsburg RT42?..here in Ohio. He was working at a bench on a mower when a stray semi wheel came right thru the overhead door.He never knew what hit him.

It sure looks worth $650 to Me. the only reason the "DEALER" says You got killed is He's mad that He didn't pay $350 for it so He could put it on the rack or on Gunbroker asking $1500 and selling it as "rare".from Your pictures the wood looks to fit the metal good. I say clean it...
