Re: Peter H Capstick a fraud?
I started out reading everything I could by Jim Corbett. I then tried Capstick's "Death in the Long Grass". I decided Capstick was not for me. After Corbett's modesty mixed with extreme courage, I just didn't think much of Capstick's boastful style. It never occurred to me that Capstick wa...

Use those OTIS flexible cables, so you can pull the patch from the breach. Stand the gun vertically (barrel down) while pulling the patch in so the juice does not go into the action. I wouldn't mind a takedown, but I'd mount a scout scope on the barrel. Then no possible zero problems. No way to scou...

We tried it in my boy's CZ452. It's not accurate enough for my taste, while the Super Colibri is much better and hardly any louder.
I have noticed getting dirty chambers with this ammo though, so that in short order we could hardly chamber another round. A boresnake takes care of that.

You are right, scopes (other than maybe scout scopes) are silly on a lever gun. Just messes them up royally. If you want a scope, put it on a bolt gun.

The larger the bore (given identical case volume, which is true here), the better it works in short barrels. A .358 will lose less velocity due to shortening than the 7-08. The bore volume behind a .358 bullet at the end of a 16" barrel is the same as that behind a .284 bullet in a 25" bar...
