Good on ya firefuzz! Hey, I just bought a rossi 92 NIB yesterday in .357. I really wanted the 24" case harden with a octogon barrel like you, but this 20" was marked down to $386s. Retail was $499. I couldnt pass it up. I also have a old browning 92 in .44 mag. That one is like new too!

I have a ruger 77 in 7X57. Accurate, low recoil and flat shooting. Mine shoots to the same POA with various bullet weights.

What the heck. Here are all my levers. The 88 is 1957 in .308, the 64 in 30-30 a safe queen from 1952, the 94 30-30 I bought new in 1957, the two 92s, and my 95 30-40 from 1931.

I had put on a trapdoor sight on it before this one. As I recall I couldnt use the holes right and it was held on by one screw too short. This one fits. Seems he called it something like officers winfield?

Firefuzz, when I bought my 95, 45 years ago, the rear sight was missing. I had a old gunsmith friend that gave me the present sight. I forgot what he called it, maybe winder or windfield? Anyway it does have a turnable windage. I should take pictures. My handguard wont fit over the longer sight.

I forgot to add, I had just returned from wisconsin to my home in california. My dad was near the end of his life in a convalesant home and I had just returned with his and some of my boyhood guns. As my safe was plumb full these were loose.

Dont know if I ever posted this. It`s a 44 win made in 1902. Serial # 269815. It came off a reservation in the dakotas. It was stolen along with more guns out of my house in 2003.

Assumeing similar condition, I would go first for the 1940 32 or 1956 30-30. I bought my 94 new in 1956 and it is a fine rifle. That one with the peep sight likely was D&T at the factory. Even mine was.
