Re: Why 357 only?
Im inclined not to care whats stamped on the gun in this case as a357 can fire 38 and a 44mag can fire 44 special. Whether they feed them well comes down to more than what the gun is stamped with anyway since a particular lever gun will have its own idea of what COAL and nose profiles it likes. On a...

I have some and it's super clean burning but it is not equivalent to H110 ... I think it's just an unfortunate numbering. I believe it's a bit faster than 2400 or H110 so you'll need to load down from where you might load those two. I also have some of their N105 ... which is in a good spot for Hor...

Thanks and wow, 26.5grains behind a 200 jsp for 1750fps in a pistol barrel. 22.1 grains behind a 240 jacketed for 1541fps. If that matches reality then in a carbine that load would be pushing over 1900fps.... Last but not least 20.2 grains behind a 300 xtp for 1374fps! Looks like most these loads ar...

I took some water in the basement and some 38 special remingtont UMC factory ammo probably sat in about 2 inches of water for 2 hours without my realizing. Re: Gold Dots in lever action?
worth noting that not all 'gold dots' are created equal. short barrel revolver versions which the OP refers ( 135grain in 38 and 200grain in 44 special fpr the record) are designed to expand under 900fps and will fragment to pieces over 1200-1300. Regular gold dots are much tougher, essentially a di...

Hi gents, anyone have links to higher pressure loads( up to lever action level) in 44 special brass preferably with 2400 powder. Any bullet weights 200-240+ grains, JHP and cast. Purpose is two extra shots in the magazine of my rossi 92. Starline says their brass is good for lever action pressures.

I think it might be difficult finding what you are looking for in factory ammo. A soft cast HP at subsonic speeds will do what you want but not only will you need to reload, you will also need to cast your own bullets. Mould makers like MP-Molds and NOE should be able to provide the style of mould ...
