Re: Picked up my Christmas present today

Thank you. We believe that the rifle is unfired. Jim Riggs confirmed that he did the engraving and then had the receiver electroless nickled.

I promise you that it will not remain unfired for very long.

Re: bushnell TRS-25 red dot on Rossi 92

The only reason I stick to iron sights on my leverguns is that I use a saddle scabbard. If I didn't, I would not hesitate to put a red dot on a levergun. I thought about doing this on a short Rossi 92 in .44 mag as I have seen a neat mount that fits the dovetail in the front and attaches to the side...

Re: Another peachy Christmas

Your post brings back memories of long ago. Happy memories. My grandpa used to run dogs and chase coyotes all over the countryside. He would get with one of his friends and they would turn the dogs loose and listen to the music of their cries. I loved being there. He made a similar box out of plywoo...

Reciever sight for a Browning 1895 .30-06

I'm thinking about taking my Browning 1895 out of the box and shooting it. I was also thinking about a reciever sight like on some of the older 95s I have seen. One of them mounts to the side and has a small lever to make adjustments for elevation and it seems to be pretty sturdy. Anyone have any su...

If you want to see a violent western, watch "Bone Tomahawk."

There's a reason some Native Americans worked so hard to live up where you couldn't get to them. And canabalizm was not resricted to the Texas Gulf Coast tribes.

This one is fitted with a grip frame and stocks like those found on an 1860 Army Colt. I find the extra length to be very useful for a guy with big hands and it isn't too obvious either. If their rifles are fitted this nicely, I may need to look at one.

I’ve been playing with this Uberti sixgun for some time. I paid less than $500 for it and I think it’s better fitted and finished than any Colt SAA that I’ve owned. It locks up tight, does not leave drag marks on the cylinder. The barrel is smooth and it cleans up easily. The bluing is flawless and ...

He got a slide bite from a Glock. Not very likely. That was what got me. That scene made no sense and frankly ruined the movie for me. He could easily have had an injury in that scene that was not related to the gun biting him that he would have to hide from the police. But this was very strange.

John Wayne. My grandpa had an old octagon barrel 1894 rifle with a 26 inch barrel in .30 wcf. I sinfully coveted that rifle. By the time I was old enough to know about such things, Grandpa was using a .270. Dad thought the .30-30 wasn't enough gun so he used a Springfield Sporter in .30-06. ( Though...
