Prayers up for those killed and their familys.
We had the same thing here in Colorado, the other day, but luckily the trooper was OK, just battered up somewhat.

Don't think Ruger ever made a long barrel like that. Now, if you can find a 357max barrel and have it rebored, then you would be GTG, but can't help you otherwise.

Agree, the ammomaster works well, although I have heard many use the Lee 50 cal kit and it works well for them. Ammomaster would be better if you are sizing down brass fired in an M2, but if from a bolt gun, then I would go with the Lee. Hard to beat it for the price, coming with dies and such.

I would try the firelapping first. See how that works. You could also cast a lap and work down on the breech end of the rifle and see if you could get rid of some of any remaining constriction, left over after firelapping. If you do have to re-line, then it would be better if the barrel was drilled ...

1899 Savage worth?
LGS has one in 303 savage. Built in 1904. Bore little ragged, but not too bad. Wood been refinished at one time and most of that is gone. Straight stock, but has a rear peep sight. Just wondering what the thing is worth and can you even get brass for it.
Thanks

I have heard of that happening when the fit is too "tight" with the barrel in the frame or the barrel is torqued down too much. It puts a "choke" in the barrel. You might be able to get some cast bullets and impregnate them with a fine valve grinding compound or "JB Paste&qu...

Elk can eat the young willows by the rivers and in high water years, can change the rivers path, causing it to meander faster. By the wolves eating the elk, the willows can grow and anchor the stream edges and slow the meander of the river/stream. Haven't watched any programs on this lately, but I r...

I use a cast iron dutch oven over a turkey fryer burner to smelt my lead. You will have to sort your stash and clean out the zinc and steel ww's. I would go with the 20 lb pot. Better yet, try and find a decent used Saeco or lyman pot.

NOE moulds. Check into a 375 that was made from the same cherry as the rcbs 35-200 bullet, but cut on an eccentric, so it came out at 235 gr. Mine is a 382-235, that I got to use in a 38-55, but I believe that he made a slightly smaller version for 375's, and H&H's. Check out his line of 44 moul...

If they are early 77's, are they flatbolt guns? If so, then they have douglas barrels on them and are good shooters. Do they have sights on them? If so, the 77rs '06 is rare from what I have heard. Do more research on them, they might be worth more than you think.

Wheather I use a mag primer or not, depends on the case. Your load will tell you if it likes it or not. I have a 375 H&H load that tightens up real well with a mag primer, but the powder is not normally thought to need one. I also have a 357max rifle that does not like a mag primer.

NOE also has a copy of the 358429 and the 359175rf is a close copy of the Saeco mould. NOE makes excellent moulds Gas check if you ...

Marine Tex is an excellent quality epoxy. Auto supply (NAPA or such should have it). You might use a popsicle stick to force the epoxy into the crack, then use a hose clamp to close the crack up a bit while the epoxy hardens (I would give it 24 hours at least).

If you are getting alot of crud in the chamber, when using the suppressor, maybe you are getting more gas volume back into the action, you are getting more "crud" there and some of it is flowing in the chamber. Try a different ammo, if that doesn't help, try the gas piston upper. I think t...
