In the 30/30 -or any cartridge for that matter - consistency in reloading will probably do more for accuracy than minute adjustments in OAL. Probably not quite what you want to hear, but I'd swap 'en with somebody for some 240 gr. projectiles. 300 gr. is usable in HEAVY 44 Magnum loads, but I'm thinkin' 240 gr. would be better in all respects in the 44 Special. YMMV, of course. -Stretch

The "Best Gun" is the one you have in your fist when the balloon goes up. As others have said - make it simple, and make it familiar. It IS hard to go wrong with a DA 357 revolver. Dirt simple. Front sight - PRESS! No safeties, no questioning if there's a round in the chamber - no nothing....

Mercy!.480 Ruger with a 410 grain LBT style bullet in Wide Flat Nose. Can be run a little faster, but 900 fps in the revolver gives best accuracy for me.

I, too, like WW231. It meters very consistently. 7gr. in 41 Magnum pushing a 215 gr. SWC is a great load.
