Re: Leverevolution or Core-Lokt
The CoreLokt is one of those designs that was done right from the outset. It's been around since 1939, and is still a premier bullet for game. I don't know how you'd go wrong choosing it. The late Jeff Cooper was impressed with it. I know not of LeverEvolution, 'cuz I haven't used any yet. But in my...

Cold and snow is the way to go. You'll learn that the worst thing is a warm winter. Snow then rain turns to ice you can't get cleaned off roofs or driveways. Wet, heavy snow is hard to move and packs like cement. Nope, give me a real winter every time. Oh, yeah. I still remember the Ice Storm of '9...

Lee lists 27.2 to 28.0 gr. of H110 Max giving 1500fps or so in 45 Colt for the 240gr. jacketed bullet - but only for Ruger and T/C in handguns. I was late to the shooting game. My mother didn't want guns in the house, and I grew up in suburbia with no real place to shoot, so that was that. I bought a Makarov and Marlin 336 in 35 Remington the same day. I was in my 30s. (Odd combination, I know.......) -Stretch

It can be made to penetrate like nobody's business with a hard cast 180 gr WFN, but I do not think it is as effective on game as a heavy loaded .44 Special. That might be the only disadvantage of the 357 compared to the 44 - the 44 mag makes a bigger hole. 'Course, it needs more power to make that ...

The 357 just might be my favorite chambering in a handgun. 357 revolvers can handle anything from a mild 38 Special load to a VERY stout hunting load. They're also easier to carry than say, a Redhawk. The same can be said for the 44 Magnum revolver - it can use a mild 44 Special load up to loadings ...

And the magazine capacity is greater.
On the other hand, the 9mm doesn't make as big a hole as the 45.
