Thanks for the tour! What a cool place to spend time in. The lock inletting machine looks like a real Rub Goldburg machine. They where great mechanics in those days.

Have you started reloading or casting yet for them? I have for the 300 Savage. Got some store bought for the 308 Have to load for the 35 Remington. I bought several hundred 35cal cast bullets from a guy. Might try them out of the 141. I have some that are flat point 200 grain. Worry that they won't ...

Yes, he remarked the caliber on the rebored barrel. With also his initals on the top of the barrel were it is threaded into the receiver.
I thought rebore would be less costly than a rebarrel.
I think the cost is $225.00 shipping included for the rebore.

I have had JES rebore a couple of my Marlin 336s. One to 38/55 and another to 444 Marlin. Did a nice job, reasonable and quick turn around time. Rifles both are very accurate. I went with the 3 groove. I would like to do the rebore for 35 Whelen also but I will have to wait for a deal on a 95.

Nice carbine! I haven't seen a carbine before. I have a 14 and a few 141s. They sure are smooth running actions. My 14 is also a 30 Remington made around 1914. It has an attachment on the barrel for a Maxim silencer from what I have researched. I plan on making a replica of a Maxim for show non func...

Re: Tell me about the "71"
I really enjoy shooting and hunting with my Winchester 71 (1937) vintage. The 348 is a great cartridge for hunting, I find it accurate and loaded with Hornady 200 gr puts game down fast. With the Aoudad, I had a shot through the front shoulder at an angle and passed completely through. Range approx....

I have also taken notice on how accurate these rifles are. I was shooting my 99C at 100 yds with a Lapua Mega 150 gr and did 3 quick shots just to see if it was still on and shot a clover leaf group. And also these rifles get noticed by the younger crowd as something they have never seen or heard of...

You are truly blessed. A great saw mill and a Marlin rifle on your own place. I used to help my neighbor saw logs on a mill like yours, he has passed on and so has the mill but those where good days together working in the woods and making lumber. He was also a good shot with his Marlin.
