Nath, I use my Winchesters on the ground as they are quicker than the Marlin having no scope. When I sit up in a tree I have the chance for a 150 yard shot, and I like the scope for that purpose.

I have Packers Season Tickets, and the Stadium Fly Bye at the start of the Saints game was AWESOME. Makes the hair on your neck stand up ! You cannot hear them coming, and they are all of a sudden there and gone. I think there were 4, but could have been 5.

I have read articles where the Gun Cranks talk about other "Premium" bullets retaining more weight than a Partition. The reason for this is the bullet does not expand. What they do not talk about is the Partition "ALWAYS" expands, and yes loses some of the front part of the bulle...

I had problems closing my chamber on my Handloads in my BLR .308 I pulled the bullets on the ones that i had the problem with, then resized with RCBS small base dies. Problem solved !

My BIL Loads the 170 gr. Partition in his 308 MX as he was less than satisfied with the Factory Gummy Tips he started with. He has taken 2 Deer with them with Good results. He is not sure how much more velocity he is getting over a 30-30 if any.

Fred Hit the Nail on the Head....BOTH. Marlin with a scope, and Winchester with a peep sight. You can do Anything with them.

I used my BLR in .308 A decent Bull, and it went maybe 10 feet. Loaded 165 Grain Nosler Partitions, and it was a pass thru behind the shoulder. Deer are sometimes tougher !

Too many people out and about to shoot, so the wife and I took the Fly Rods out on the Lake ! Had a Great time with smaller Spawning Crappie, and Bluegill. Kept enough to eat, and released the rest. Back to reality tomorrow.
