The Florida flatwoods is my choice. We have some nice rivers and some beautiful hardwood hammocks. A rise or hill to us is where someone pushed up a pile of dirt and forgot to level it back out. :P

Joe,

That sounds as though he may have gotten into some kind of poison. Rat, ant, antifreeze or something similar. The only other thing I am aware that causes paralyzation like that is Rickets, but the choking does not fit that.

Our local gun shop has had two 336's come in recently where the barrels were installed cross threaded and off center. Check the chambers on the new ones also, some are very rough and will require polishing.

I use Chore Boy (on real bad leaded bores) and Wipe Out (liquid version) exclusively. Chore Boy can also be used to remove surface rust (oil surface first) w/o harming the bluing. I know I have sung the praises of Wipe Out before, but if you havn't - give it a try.

The steel framed BLR's are threaded vs. what I call a press fit on the alloy frames. I have never had either apart and have not seen one apart, so I can't absolutely answer your question. You don't/can't remove the barrel. The barrel/receiver is a press fit, unless it is a takedown model. There is a pin, but it is not your normal assembly. Rebarreling is not much of an option either.
