The 49th edition of the Lyman reloading handbook suggests IMR 3031 with 150 grain bullets starting at 37 grains and maximum being 41.5. Have never as far as I can remember used 3031 in the 303. I like the idea that you are allowed by your club to use mounts that do not alter the rifle.Good luck with...

Berretta stampedes come with the cheapest grips known to man,had one out of time from the factory hence finding out about the grips because their service rep over tighten and broke the grips on that one.Ruger all the way.Colt would be nice but deep pockets.

You may also wish to consider the material the knife is made off-for instance if you have a striker,stainless steel will not get a spark from it if you are attempting to start a fire.

What JREED said . Savage has some good package deals with fair glass.Howa does have package deals not sure of their optics.It is said to be the same action as the Weatherby Vanguard.Later on should you choose Savage you could do DIY barrel changes.

Have done so in the past with a bolt gun with no ill effect but then went to one piece bases.Also seldom if ever use a sling as I don't want to be tied up with my rifle should a shot be presented. Just my .02

I had to get a spring for a marlin 1881 from Wisner's inc.I do not see a listing for what you have or that they would make anything custom but it can not hurt to ask.You could e-mail them.

Have a 2x7 Leupold on my BLR have not had to do any adjustments even after switching to copper because of junk science.Nuff said.Love old El Paso Weaver scopes too.
