I've been a member over there about three years and thus far, have had no trouble. I don't suffer fools gladly or pretend Marlin is the only good lever action, so my days may be numbered.

I've used flake & IMR powders quite a bit and my best top end rifle loads are still fueled by H4895. But ball powders meter much more consistently through my old Hornady Deluxe and I use them almost exclusively for handgun loads.

I've used thousands of Bear Creek bullets. I'll second their proprietary coating being the best I have used. Yes sir and if you run them at target wadcutter speeds, they can leave that little half jacket halfway down the bore while the lead continues on to fool you by poking a hole in the target.

Found that out about 1976...

To be 100% truthful, my most used (and by proxy useful) lever action is a common Henry 22 that hangs on a peg by the back porch door with an old hunting shirt hanging over it.

I've got an old Ballard rifled 336 Texan in 35 Remington, for which I load the 200 grain Sierra to 2155 fps. I can tell you it wallops deer real hard at 130 yards.

I've had fun with lever actions in revolver calibers but they aren't very practical in open country. The 30-30, 35 Remington and a few others are usable with a 200 yard zero, provided you only use one load and pick your shots. My old 35 is on at 325, at the 3rd step of the rear sight elevator.
