Re: Moose Gun 444 Marlin
I seem to remember the Maverick and the forerunner of the Pinto. The Pinto and the Chevy Vega could often be stopped by a large loogie spit in front of them. The compressed rust that those two cars were made of was amazing in how fast it would fall apart.

Just wondering about how these hunts work. What happens to the meat? Surely you can't bring it home. Also are all these species even edible? The meat is sold on the local meat market in some places, and in others it belongs to the tribe whose land you are hunting on. The meat that most humans don't...

That was enough penetration to prove that the old calibers are still capable.

Heavy for caliber bullets are often great for hunting. I have used a .270 on deer with the 130 grain bullets and it was great. For anything larger, I would go with 150 grain premium bullets just for the extra penetration. My particular Remington 700 likes both weight bullets, but the 150 grain ones ...

I have used the Universal Clays in reloading 20 gauge, and it works well. I did use a little guesswork, and figured out a load with it to use in shot capsules for my pistols. It is not a published load, but it seems to do well, and it is less than the load used in those calibers for lead bullets. I ...

How can the .35 Remington endure? It is big, slow, and just isn't up to par with the latest eargashplitten loudenboomer. Why, we all know that deer have evolved to have kevlar hides and nothing moving less than 3,000 fps at the muzzle and not in a metric caliber can even hope to bring one down. And ...

Each and every one of those knives would be right at home in a deer camp. I am often amazed at the way some people have the talent for turning steel and wood into useful pieces of art. A little bit of work can turn steel into a useful knife, but it takes talent to make it a work of art.

For those who have never jumped, Paladin did all that in about 45 seconds. I timed it once from door to popping the release on my right shoulder, and it was 45 seconds. I did have someone run across the top of my canopy once. That will get you to pucker factor 10 in about half a heartbeat.
