Re: The Browning Lever Action Rifle (BLR) By: Bruce Hamlin
I don't know about pre-70 year models. But that original article was a good one on the BLR's. Me and my extended family and I have owned quite a few BLR's of different vintages, over the years. My first one, and still my favorite and most used, is an 89 or 90 year model, which of course is a steel f...

Don't know about any of their guns, but that reminds me of a story my dad told me, several times, regarding the James Brothers. Re: Ok Guys. J-Frame or SP 101?
I have several J-frames, but I have almost bought one of the SP 101's on a couple of occasions. The Ruger may be more shootable, being a slightly beefier gun, which I guess is the reason I didn't buy one, because I prefer the lighter J-frame for actual carry in the application that I would use one i...

Not familiar with Carpenter Bees. There are lots of regional insects. I didn't know what they were called for a long time, and finally someone told me at work, when it came up. I don't know why one would shoot a bee, but I would think that a Red Rider BB gun would be the proper tool for that. If you had ever had an infestation of Carpenter bees, you would understand. Re: For Paul .22 Magnum snub nose
I played around with shot shells out of a .22 LR quite a bit. I have killed lots of carpenter bees with a Ruger single six with 22 long rifle birdshot. For me, I seemed to get more kills using the Winchester crimped load, as opposed the the plastic shot shell loads. However, I did not shoot that man...

Browning BLR (older gun, steel frame) .308 win with Leupold 2 x 7 power scope. It's pretty versatile, capable of a 300 yard standing or a 20yd running shot, moderate recoil for fast follow up shots, fairly light to carry and just as compact as a Marlin 336 with scope.
