Those kind of shots always raise doubts in people's minds unless they are standing there watching it happen. Those who don't doubt it are usually those who either saw something like it happen or those who have made similar shots themselves.

I set mine up that way and used it for years. People talk about it possibly firing out of battery but I ran it hard and fast and never had an issue.

HA! That is resurrecting the dead! The top loads in the .25 would blow the primer and the entire primer pocket out of the cartridge. I would fire it and the shell would eject. I've owned 1886's ... originals ... beautiful rifles but pretty heavy. If I were starting out today I would go with the new Marlin.
