Noah, Ben Franklin supposedly said beer was proof God loves us. I disagree. It is dogs.

OT: Remington Model 8
Bought my first one a few weeks ago, a much-used .30 Remington made in 1909. I think I mentioned before that it had a ring in the barrel about an inch from the muzzle, and I was concerned that it would be wildly inaccurate. No worries mate! Here's a group using this load: 31.0 IMR3031, CCI 200, Rem ...

Those prices do look a bit high, but I can sure remember reading those ads in the gun magazines while waiting for a haircut. The barber wouldn't let me read some of the -- ahem -- "other" magazines because I was too young.

.30 Rem brass and RCBS No. 19 shellholder
Just got a batch of R-P .30 Remington brass from Huntingtons, and it won't quite fit in the RCBS No. 19 shellholder. Anyone else have this problem with any of the Remington auto rifle cartridges, or with the new 6.8 SPC, which is based on the .30 Rem. case?

I am unaware of any effort by federal or state government to restrict civilian access to loading components.
At the Sportsman's Warehouse where I work, Federal small pistol Gold Medal match primers are $34.99 per 1,000, and various other non-match primers are $27-$30 per 1,000 when we have them.

I'd have to say the 8X57 is roundly underappreciated by almost everyone, but especially by American ammunition manufacturers, owing to their fear of someone putting a properly loaded round into an old Gew.88 with .318 barrel. How many people do you know who, upon obtaining a nice old Model 98 Mauser...
