Re: 45 acp sixgun
I see almost no reason or advantage to owning a sixgun in .45ACP. I much prefer a semiauto in .45ACP, and I hate moon clips. They may make a revolver quicker to load, but still not as quick as dropping a magazine and stuffing in another. For me a revolver in .45 colt makes far more sense, and is fa...

Mostly lower cost and higher availability of ammo and brass. The 45 Colt (the rimmed longer one) can be loaded with heavier bullets and/or powder charges. Unique is extremely versatile and there is so much data from mouse guns to twelve gauge. Power Pistol is pretty good too at least from 9mm/38 to 45s.
I found Unique to meter much more precisely with a dedicated pistol powder drum.

I only have one Rossi and I have it because it was cheap. It’s a previously owned 24 inch barrel stainless rifle in 45 Colt. The action is really smooth and I suspect it was worked on. Yeah I have never seen anyone hunt with one. I've seen plenty of Remington and Browning autoloaders though. I know lots of people who own them though. I could see it as a game capable HD gun and an option for people who must hunt with these cartridges. I just as soon hunt with a Marlin 44 myself

I think the main attribute this cartridge has over other straight walls is that it will run in a AR-15 possibly in standard 5.56 mags and with the same capacity. See above. Nothing comparable will fit in an AR-15. A few larger cartridges will with special single stack mags. The AR is the most popul...

I haven’t but it shouldn’t be difficult. I would probably go with Unique for a traditional power load, crimp enough that youbullets don’t get pushed in and off you go. Trail Boss would be fine if you want a lighter load. I don’t know about 4227 in a 1860.

When I was a teenager NC had some pretty convoluted manner of taking laws. Small game could be taken with a 22 pistol not less than six inches. Hence when I wanted a 22 pistol, I asked for the Mark II Target 6 7/8 in barrel as the much handier 5 1/2 was illegal for hunting and the six had fixed sigh...

Probably depends on the specific 38 load as to whether it will function. I would think the journey from the magazine to the elevator would be the most critical phase. If you kept over all length similar 38s could work. Think lots of lead sticking out of the case. Not wadcutters or 110s.

Yeah I have to disagree with Noir about the Glock being the better tool. I’d rather be holding most any hunting rifle in that situation assuming it’s in a suitable medium to big game cartridge.
