Ist Generation Colt restored by Cosby Custom Guns The Colt stays pretty much in the safe these days so case colors are still bright. The USFA gets quite a bit of use. It's holding up well but I know that won't last. And it's OK. Jim, what's the grip material on the Colt? And Merry Christmas! :)

It has been suggested to me that big, solid heavy guys feel the recoil more than lighter, skinnier guys like me, because their mass absorbs most of the recoil but it just knocks me back a bit. Experience seems to support this theory.

As for the batteries, I like the lithiums. They have a very long shelf life and I haven't had any leak or corrode yet.

The Remlins I've seen on the racks over the last couple of years have looked pretty darn good. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one. Some of the early ones I saw should not have left the factory.

I used Jasco finish remover to get the Browning glossy finish off, worked very well. The wood looks much better (IMO) with an oil finish.
