Interesting. I suppose fewer folks drive now than in the fairly recent past. Perhaps some of the fuel stops just couldn’t survive.

So you can still take long guns. I had a Smith 29 and a 12 ga 870 No problems with either in the 80’s. Today I imagine handguns are forbidden.

Anyone drive to Alaska recently? I wonder what the road is like today. I here tell it actually paved and has things like gas stations and resturants not to mention organized campgrounds. If so one of the last great driving adventures in North America is gone.

Not surprised at all. Two things to consider. The plastic used for drum, particularly the tops is both very dense and much thicker than water jugs. The other is the density if water is much greater than folks think.

In my 20 for HD I load alternatingly slugs and buck. You don't need any of those fancy/expensive slugs. The good old foster slugs are more than sufficient .

I’ve had similar problems with my 39A as well as other.22 lr rifles. I tried several things but found Dawn dishwashing liquid on a chamber brush works wonders.

Heck it cleans petroleum covered birds and that stuff is waxy.

I’m partial to the Mossberg 500. My first shotgun was a 410 Mossy. Still have it and use it. It’s now 61 years old and other than keeping it clean and replacing the magazine spring (my fault it didn’t wear out) nothing else has been needed.

I’ve been using something similar for well over a decade. I think it was designed for sub guns but the velcro fit with my take downs. I ended up with a couple as this one became the home for The Perfect Jeep Gun.
