Neck sizing is just resizing that part of the case which grips the bullet.That was the way I started with a 303 british years ago.Someone else will have to say if it will work for a lever gun.Some levers even require fairly tight dies (small base) but I would think the revolver caliber guns would not.

Like J Miller I had to rework the primer pockets and if I recall the brass at that time didn't seem to hold up for very long.

Perry, if he came into possession of it before Jan 1 of 1991 there shouldn't be a problem,I know this isn't your gun and I may be wrong but before that date no paperwork was required for private transfer.

Well one nice thing about that Mossberg is you won't fell bad about losing it in the woods,using it as a ply bar,spray painting it,loaning to the bil or mil,giving it as a white elephant gift,using it to hold the toilet paper when nature calls,a fire poker(unloaded )................

You might try J-B non-embedding bore cleaning compound on the bore,don't know how others feel about that but it has worked for me in the past.

Gave one to a friend two years ago maybe three,while I've never got to work mine ,he was able to use his skinning a bear and liked it.As he tends to keep all of his razor sharp I'll take his word for it.

Ollogger, what is LVR?I'm thinking that if I seat my bullets deeper so none of the crimping groove shows I'd have better luck.Do you have an over all length that you load to?

Pretty much my feelings with Barnes.Bullets are more expense ,you get half what you used to,You buy the book and it is so full of photos that some calibers are completely ignored even though they produce bullets for them.Then read their description of the 30-30.........

Saw some where that 25.7 grains of imr 3031 was a factory equivalent with the 117 grain bullet but have CRS so you better work your way up to that one.Worked with little 75 grain bullets but that is another ball game.

How about a .32 round ball.Tried it in 303 with a shotgun primer once, keyword once ,because my bit was too big and the primer didn't seal that little RB never left the barrel on it's own. Wasn't a problem as I had my cleaning rod with me but never tried it again.

Have hunted with the 24 inch barrels before but it was what I had at the time, didn't feel that they were any trouble.Will be taking the trapper this year if for no other reason because it will pack better and I intend to do a little more brush busting in thick stuff this year.

Nothing wrong with the 8mm and should just get better if you have to use copper.Mine likes IMR 4064 under the Barnes 180 tsx unfortunately crs prevents me from saying how much powder at the moment.Think I came up with the load off the Hodgdon reloading page.
