My favorite lube for several years was a mixture of beeswax and black moly grease.

It worked great and left a protective coating on the bore. It was sticky and messy, but I never had any leading issues when I used it.

Smelled like old motor oil when you shot it though.

Miss Kathy and I went through the China virus back in April. I was sicker than a dog, but it was not life-threatening. Fortunately, her symptoms were milder.

El Paso has it bad right now, and across the River in Juarez its a real mess.

I saw a Winchester ad from back in the old days where they were promoting a .32-20 as a deer cartridge. My brother and I started shooting deer with a 110 grain soft point in an M-1 Carbine that dad bought for $15 from an ad in the American Rifleman. We didn't lose any deer, but the ranges were short...

They had original center fire 66s? I was under the impression that all 66s were chambered for the.44 Henry Flat which was a rimfire cartridge. But I admit that I haven’t studied this in great detail.

No MIM or plastic parts in my old gun. The hammer is much heavier and falls harder. Lock time might be increased, but not so you can tell. The trigger pull is definitely longer, but I would rather have a gun that goes "BANG!" every time I pull the trigger.

I get lead at the airport. They put a bunch of sheets of lead in the bottom of some planes when they bring them over from France (they tell me that it is for ballast). It’s a Brazil contract gun. But it isn’t marked 1917. I always call them a 1937. The barrel says “S. & W. D.A. .45”. I know that it’s basically the same gun.

This revolver has no problem setting off primers!

I sat out on Sunday and watched this young buck from about 20 yards. He was spooked but he could not figure out why. He had an 8 point rack, but the horns were inside his ears and he was perfectly safe as he was not legal. But I would bet that he would taste as good as a legal deer. Congratulations!...

I have the same trouble with grips like that. They look great, but I need a bit more support toward the heel of my hand.

That's one of the reasons I like a square butt N frame with the magna style grips.
