Re: scope mounting on dovetailed receivers
The "old" style for mounting scopes on 22's use 3/8 dovetail rings. Can also use air gun rings. Easy enough to find, any of the gun shops in your area probably have a set.

I think the SS barrel and aluminum are galling against each other while chambering. Stainless can be funny characters. Could try to polish the chamber but not easy on a lever gun without a real long polishing rod. Does your blued gun chamber the specials? Could be just minor difference in feed ramp,...

Not old but here are a couple interesting shootin irons of mine. Ruger SINGLE SIX converted to 44 special. New 5 shot cylinder, 4" barrel, large spur hammer. Was my fishin vest gun when I lived in CO. What I (we) think started life as a Zoli shotgun. This was a box of parts when I got it. Had t...

Hmm, I'm thinking maybe you need to keep going until something FAILS!
If Henry sprung for the first 25,000, maybe they will cough up some more ammo!
I'd be curious to see you slinging 1000 rounds an hour, heck I'd even spell you some!
Can't wait to see accuracy results!

Camp daddy,
I'm not sure what finish Marlin uses but it is going it is going to take some elbow grease to get to bare wood. You could try a commercial stripper, a cabinet scraper will help.
Another thought, try to find an UNFINISHED set from Boyd's. This way the original wood can stay untouched.

Gun parts shows your locking block! See link below!

I am not familiar with that gun, but as I have fitted locking bolts in a few shotguns, you have a worn out locking system. I'll look it up, try to get back to you. If gun parts has one, order it , it may drop in with minor fitting, or it may not. If one can't be had, find a GOOD welder and teach you...

MM, sounds to me to be more of case sizing. Clarify this a little bit more, are the bullets setting back IN the mag tube or when you chamber a round? If they set back under recoil then it's your crimp. If it happens when clambering the round(s) then I would say it's over size bullet/ under size Lead...

Slower loads will shoot higher, more time in the barrel under recoil.
Faster loads will be lower.
Most replacement sights can be purchased in .010" height differences. Brownells should have a selection.

I wouldn't bother doing anything to it UNTIL you figure out what caliber it is. I suggest getting a block of CERROSAFE from Brownells, FOLLOW the instructions to the T! Alright, here is the Henry bore! I had to dig up an old laptop to make it work!
From what I can see, just a bit of crackle near chamber mouth, one suspicious spot there as well.
Again this $12 bore scope is NOT worth the effort!
Camera end is .390" so is only good for big bores.
