Re: PA OPEN DEER SEASON STARTS ON MONDAY
I hunted Mon. and Tues. of the PA bear season with my Marlin Guide 45-70 with the XS peep, all without luck - it was probably the first year in 10+ that our gang did not get a bear. We cut some tracks late in the day on Mon. but that was about it. For deer season - I'll be taking 3 guns to camp... m...

As 1886 says, those triggers are touchy. My 'smith, who is one of the country's premier trigger 'smiths will not touch an 88. Way too complicated and well, its not worth the trouble on a levergun that decently accurate anyway. I suggest cleaning out the barrel real good of any copper fouling, check...

Bump to top, how about on an original 1892 in 32wcf? I'd like a better rear sight, but don't want it to look wrong etc... and have no clue how to "weather it" to match either? Or is drilling always required? That I don't want to do. Jeff Look at the Lyman tang sight - no drilling/tapping ...

Welcome.... I would look at the Lyman or Marbles tang sight. I have the Lyman on a few rifles and enjoy using them. The advantage the Marbles has is that they are adjustable for both windage and elevation, whereas the Lyman is only adjustable for elevation. If you think you want or need a hooded fro...

I always seemed to do better with Remington, even before the Handloader article. Winchester, for me, did not seem to last that long.
